I remember Tigertailz had a couple minor hits, nothing groundbreaking but decent.

I just listened to the one song that was posted.MikeInFla wrote:I did send a message to someone who claims to know the singer and drummer of DuBiel (singer and drummer are married) and they want to bring some of the music back. I told them to get in touch with Roxx.
Very good stuff! They could give Ransom and Arsenal a run for their money,
not to mention many other bands. Hope they get an official reissue.

So far no one has mentioned Beggars & Thieves. Underrated band from NY.
They worked with Desmond Child (Bon Jovi, Areosmith) and signed to Atlantic,
This was their first single and charted in Billboard's Top 40 Album Rock Charts.
Generally not a sleaze band - a bit more cerebral - but a few songs on their 1st album have some objectionable lyrics....

^I found that Ivory Tower cassette in a Sam Goody's once! Back then the chain record stores used to take local band merchandise on consignment. No longer have that tape but those days were interesting for discovering unknown and rare albums, tapes, and CD's.

Never heard of Ivory Tower, not too bad though a little cliche'.

And that's why I loved this! I found downloads of both of their albums a couple of days ago. Their first album is best. They changed singers for the 2nd one and it just didn't have quite the same magic.

Ha, at our age, cliche' has become reminiscing.

Seriously, Hittman was one of my favorite bands back then.MikeInFla wrote:Have never heard of the band Hittman until 5 minutes ag
Check out their demo tracks, they were even better than the albums.
I wouldn't really call them a hair or glam band though...more like melodic U.S. power metal.
Hittman are from Long Island. I was friends with their manager at the time and he invited me out to a show where I met and hung out with them. Nice bunch of guys. They gave me a "thank you" in the liner notes of that first record.
They were great live. The drummer Chuck Khoury used to be in an early metal band called Takashi (now that's more of a glam band, see below).
Hittman reformed recently (minus original bass player Mike Bucell, who passed away in 2013).
They have been playing the European festivals. I've seen some clips, they are still really good live.

I remember Hittman, kind of reminded me of Riot. Good find even if not the right catagory.

This isn't an old band but might be obscure. They play music in that style. This one is from 2016.

I actually bought the downloads of those albums by Niterain two years ago and never listened to them. LOL They have a definite Crue vibe to me.
Here's an oldie I recently found:

Same! I bought several tracks from Niterain and forgot all about them until one of the songs showed up when I hit "shuffle" and I rarely listen to shuffled tunes.alldatndensum wrote:I actually bought the downloads of those albums by Niterain two years ago and never listened to them. Here's a two-fer - different bands, same song!
This band used to be known as Valentine....later changed their name to Open Skyz.
I just remembered this song....came out in the 90's.
The singer is Hugo, a well-known guy in AOR circles.
2nd band is another hair band that was pretty good. They recorded the same song, but I'm not sure who wrote the original.
It actually has a great message:

I remember Black-Eyed Susan. I had their cassette long ago. The original singer from Britny Fox (Dizzy Dean) started this band. They had one major label release and then had a demo that would have become a second album had they stayed together. I would love to find that demo.
Re: Obscure bands list, let's keep it to hair/glam here.
I have not seen this one mentioned yet....just discovered them last week.
They were originally called Hanover Fist, from Canada....later renamed as Hanover.
Eddie Van Halen discovered them when he was doing the soundtrack to the 80's movie "The Wild Life."
He put this song on there. Great song:

Never heard of them but that's a good song. Kind of reminds me of Icon.

^You know, no wonder I like this song so much. I didn't make the Icon connection but you are absolutely correct.

Steelhouse Lane is awesome! Their album from 1999 sounds so much like Warrant. I really like that one.

They had a song on the radio called Hell's Kitchen, pretty good stuff but I think they were too late to the scene.

Ah yes, forgot about Asphalt Ballet. "Soul Survive" was somewhat memorable from back then.
The singer actually left the band before their 2nd album "Pigs" which was not very good and was another one of those concessions to the grunge scene....
