Obscure bands list, let's keep it to hair/glam here.
Anyone remember Kill for Thrills? Famous for the band Gilby Clark came from but had a great, bluesy sound all their own.

Sea Hags fall into that sound that Kill for Thrills had, sound like a sleazy bar band.
Good one.
The Front sound like their trying to be The Cult, pretty good, never checked them out before.

Hardline. Bought this album when it came out and it's still mint.

Neal Schon wanted a reason to rock harder so he did Hardline, though they weren't obscure. Hey Razorwire, are you the same name on Youtube? Think i've seen you.
I remember Shotgun Messiah. Did they have any songs not about sex?

Yeah, I debated on putting Hardline in this thread figuring it was kinda a gray area regarding them being obscure. But, yes that is me on Youtube. I was in the process of making lots more of those full-length album videos but got too many copyright warnings so I can't do anymore.Black Rider wrote:Neal Schon wanted a reason to rock harder so he did Hardline, though they weren't obscure. I really like these guys and found out they're still around though it's only the lead singer as original. New sound is kind of a southern modern rock thing.

Tangier were pretty good, though I prefer their "Stranded" album over the more popular "Four Winds"

I had both the Every Mother's Nightmare and Tangier albums back in the day.
I wouldn't mind tracking those down again and get the Hardline stuff, too.

Haven't thought about Tangier in a long time, great bluesy sound.

Before Every Mother's Nightmare they were called "Hard Knox". I used to go see them as they were a local band in Knoxville, TN.

I went to high school with these guys. They don't have many songs on YouTube at all. The guitar player is Travis Wyrick who went on to produce Disciple, Pillar, etc.
They released around 3 CD's locally. In 11th grade they made some cassettes and i bought one of those as well (no idea where it is now). Travis had a home studio even then.
I remember one time around lunch I heard Eruption cranked up extremely loud while walking outside. I went to investigate and it was Travis with a Marshall stack playing his guitar until a teacher told him to turn it off.
I used to go see them in the clubs around Knoxville. The last time I saw them they opened for Bad Company. They almost made it big then grunge happened and wiped 'em out.

Here was a ballad they did. I think it was the only video they had.

When I saw the video for Tangier it reminded me of Tora Tora, this was the only song I remember by them.

Another one with a great song (again the only song I remember)
Singer Sandi Saraya now leads a worship team at her church.

Tora Tora and Saraya we're both awesome. I had their cassettes back in the day!
Re: Obscure bands list, let's keep it to hair/glam here.
This was a local band that never had any national fame. But they spent a ton of money on this video. Their bass player went to my High School (but a few years ahead). You might have heard of the drummer (Mark Welling), he did a stint in Bloodgood.
