Tons of bands I could list cuz of the bands I found on the Danny Waysted youtube channel, but I'll start with Southgang:

Man, I hate that this thread died. I was discovering so much new stuff I would have never heard any other way.

That's a killer song. The vocalist reminds me of Kip Winger but the music is different.
I had to Google Mike Slamer to see if I had ever heard anything he was involved in. Except for doing the guitar solos for Warrant's first two records, I have not. I will check some of it out--especially Steelhouse Lane.

Not an obscure band but this album was missed by many:

^Winger's Pull album is a pretty solid effort imo. Not outstanding but respectable.

I actually have that. I bought all the Winger albums downloads some time back. I love Winger as a band, but I don't care for Kip Winger's solo stuff.

Yeah, his solo stuff is meh, imo.

Sounds like Klaus Meine singing with Survivor. I've heard of this band back in the day, nice find.

I was thinking of these guys today and wondered what happened to them. STAXX. I used to see them when we would go to Myrtle Beach. I never knew what happened to them but they were a great cover band and would throw in a few originals. They ended up getting a major deal but it was never released as grunge took over. Found this video today and it has several videos on it so it must be a dub from a VHS tape.

I still enjoy Cry Wolf's "Pretender" album. Steve McKnight had great guitar chops.Black Rider wrote:Good stuff, I enjoy Cry Wolf and Saints n Sinners still.
They are still around but have gone in a totally different direction.
Saints & Sinners of course had Rick Hughes from Sword as their vocalist.
These were / are my favorite lesser-known bands from the hair metal side (I'm not including Christian bands since we all know them):
- Icon
- Cry Wolf
- XYZ (Marc Diglio was an amazing guitarist)
- Leatherwolf
- Killer Dwarfs
- Enuff Z'Nuff
- Vyper
- Pretty Maids
- Madison
- Saigon Kick
- Vow Wow
- LeMans
- Shark Island
- Odin
- Blackeyed Susans
- Keel
- The Scream
- Lizzy Borden
On the more known side of things, I still like quite a few including Vinnie Vincent Invasion, Frehley's Comet, Ratt, Dokken, Badlands, Loudness, etc.

I'll never know why Icon didn't get bigger, they had chops. Most of that list by Constantine I agree with though I never could get into Saigon Kick other then a song or two.
