Temple of Blood news update

This album is going to blow Overlord out of the water.

Our lineup going forward:





Drums - Lance Wright (FOREST HAVEN, ex-VILE)
Guitar - Harry Coleman Jr. (ex-HUMANICIDE)
Bass/Backing Vocals - Garth Lovvorn (ex-FLESHTIZED)
Vocals/Guitar - Jim Mullis (ex-CAULDRON BORN)

Big show next week with RAVEN here in Huntsville, AL then back to finishing up the new album!

Stoked to hear what you all think about it and to begin rehearsing songs for album #4!

Is Garth the guy that played bass on the first album? 

If so, that means that the original band is back together (minus the old lead guitarist).

I've never really been able to nail that final section. I'd have to practice it a lot and have a break through before I try that one.

It's actually the entire original lineup plus a new second guitarist.

We started playing together in 2001.  Matt didn't join until 2004.

Garth returned on bass several years ago.

I'm beyond stoked to have this lineup.  It just feels and sounds right! Everyone here is dedicated and a lifer to this scene.

Well, I actually am!  It was an awesome rehearsal that night and we all get along great.

But admittedly band pictures are my least favorite part of being in a band.

I thought Matt was an original. 

Congrats on this lineup! I hope you can keep them together for a few more albums (after the new one is released).

Lance must really like the new songs that you’re writing. I was bummed when he left previously. I get the impression that he’s into death metal and extreme stuff. That’s saying something for him to want to return to the band.

I also sing in a cover band with Harry and he may be up for playing that one day.  That's more likely than me recording it with ToB.

Yes, I told these guys this is the definitive ToB lineup in my eyes and let's all work together to keep this going.  We're all older and more mature now, less inclined for drama or petty grievances.  Everyone now has reasonable goals and a good work ethic.

YOU were bummed?!  I was REALLY bummed!!! 

But seriously, everyone around here loves Lance.  He's just a nice, talented dude who does the work.

I was trying to get him on 2nd guitar for years too, to no avail.

Also was working with Harry in this capacity years back (I posted on here about it) but he lost interest.  He's all-in now and super motivated to do this band.

Lance had first suggested Garth and I join him onstage to play some cover songs at one of his upcoming shows.  I started preparing for that and then looked at the lyrics and thought "I really don't wanna sing some of this stuff anymore".  I backed out and said I'd rather just play some originals with him sometime.  He started warming up to the idea and then around that time I started talking to Harry again about playing together.  It has taken years but it really feels like it has all come together now.

Lance is the biggest death metal fan out of all of us, but really we're all into death metal.  Garth and Harry were both in death metal bands who had opened for Morbid Angel before.  I am the only one in the group who's never played in a death metal band.  But we all love old school thrash and classic metal.  Lance is a huge Maiden fan too.

Life lesson:  Don't ever burn bridges with people.  I've seen awesome bands implode solely because they treat each other so poorly.
