That's a really tough one. Maybe one day.
I know. I was just giving you a hard time.

Thresher - Face the Rage
Believer - Desolation of Sodom
Heavens Force (any song)
Living Sacrifice - Anorexia Spiritual
Vengeance Rising - Human Sacrifice or Burn
Vengeance Rising - Herods Violent Death
Valor - Fight for Your Life
I was thinking more like a Deliverance, Tourniquet, and Sacred Warrior tune.
Depending on how tough this ends up being, I'd like to have it be a regular feature on my YouTube channel.
Would like to hear you get after any Deliverance song from the first three albums.

Evile actually did a pretty good cover of it. The lead guitarist Ol Drake basically nailed the solo. He even got very close to Dime’s tone used on the actual studio recording.

Ol Drake is amazing. I think those vocals could've been a lot better though. That style is just not his forte at all.

I’d like to see you cover:
-Slay The Wicked by Deliverance
-Swarming Spirits by Tourniquet
-Stay Away From Evil or Uncontrolled by Sacred Warrior
I think the first two or three albums from these three bands are some of the best that’s out there….and my favorites.

I agree. Ol is one of the best of his generation. Also agree on the vocals. While Matt’s voice was adequate for their own stuff, it didn’t translate that well on this song. Phil Anselmo had a bit of southern rock croon that is polar opposite to Matt’s stiff British style.

These are along the lines of what I was thinking if not the exact song selections.
I'm going to get my Christian Metal website finished and figure out to do this video editing stuff before I get started on these but these vocal covers are my next project.

Swarming Spirits by Tourniquet is great. I encourage you to do that!
As far as a Deliverance cover… Product of Society or If You Will would be cool and unexpected (deep tracks).

I can already tell you that I won't be doing many Christian metal deep tracks. Maybe one.

Why?
Do you like predictable songs that are covered multiple times? I’m not sure I should have used the phrase “deep tracks”. Most Christian metal fans like the full album experience.

Because I want more than the 5 people in this thread to care about it. They're not very likely to even click on it if it's not a song they've heard before. It's like if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there, does it even make a sound?

I re-worded my comment. I think most Christian metal fans like the full album experience (they know all the songs). Not just the “hit singles” on iTunes.

Basically, they are considered the more obscure songs on a album.
For example: “Escape” from Metallica’s Ride the Lightning album.

A song that I LOVE.
But I am not like most metal fans, and have been made painfully aware of that fact.

Lol I find it funny that you pick that song as well, since its my 2nd favorite song by them from my favorite album by them.

It’s still considered a “deep track”. Don’t confuse them as being subpar or bad… sometimes they are much better. I would rather hear “Holier Than Thou” over the boring & overplayed snooze-fest Enter Sandman. Zzzz indeed!

We'll see how difficult these videos end up being to make. The easier they are, the more I can do and the more often I can make them.
I spent a ton of time singing covers anyway, just for vocal exercises. Yngwie said musicians should practice songs, not scales and I agree. Far more motivating!

All guitar solos are done! Vocal recording starting ASAP.

Nah.
I'd rather listen to Vio-lence than Steelheart anyday.
I'll always say songwriting is the most important part.
Vocal performance is probably #2 though.
I mean, you wouldn't want a thrash band spending 90% of their time/effort on just vocals would you? Solos for one would go right out the window.
Re: Temple of Blood news update
I hear you. An argument could be made that they are the 2nd most important part. I’ll give you that. However, in your case, I’m confident the songwriting and solos will be there, hence my most important part comment. I was also being a little lighthearted in my comment. Wishing you all the best in your delivery!
