Update:

Andre' Corbin dropped out because he said he isn't a Christian anymore and doesn't want to participate in such a thing.  I am taking over his solos.  I have one of them written, and I am writing another one this week.  One of the solos I'm handing over to our other lead player Aureilen Gonzalez who's done an awesome job so far.  2 of them I am dropping entirely because our songs are so busy I wanted to let the music breathe a little bit.

Bass guitar has been recorded.  Rhythm guitar has been recorded.  Drums are recorded.  We had one song with a bit of keys and that has also been recorded.

I've been practicing my vocals, making vocal demos.  I'm happy with all of them except a couple of songs that I want to tweak before I record them.  After I record both my guitar solos I will start recording vocals.  That will begin in the next few weeks.

I've picked a mixer/masterer for the album but haven't reached out to them yet until all the tracks are in the can.

Wanna get this all done ASAP for many reasons but one reason is that I am dying to start recording the new songs I have written for album #4.

We're scaling back our live shows to only 2 a year, and have been in talks with our original drummer Lance Wright to play on those shows with us.  That would be very exciting for me if that all works out!

Just add those songs to this album and do a double LOL

Sorry for the hang ups but glad things are moving forward.

At least you’re moving forward despite the hurdles.

Mike Phillips from Deliverance would’ve been a great replacement for Corbin. And he’s definitely a Christian.

Will do.  I was trying to wait until I had some vocals recorded.

Like what I hear from that snippet. Sounds like that kind of thrash that leans into the winds of death metal ever so slightly. Look forward to hearing more for sure!

Yes, and other moments on the album are "extreme thrash" as well.

It's not a carbon copy of 80s thrash complete with 80s white high-tops and Injun hats, it's moving the spirit of thrash and USPM into modern times.

BTW, we have a new lead guitarist just join this weekend.  Very excited to start playing shows with a dual guitar attack again and hopefully have him lay down some shredding leads for us as well on album #4!

I'd hate to have folks judge it before they've heard it all in context.  I try to sing for the song, and there is a lot of variety on the album.  Heavier songs have heavier vocals, more melodic ones have soaring vocals, etc.  Someone could like one style more than another.

Mike is AMAZING.

He should've been the new guitarist in Forbidden IMHO, replacing Tim Calvert and I told him this on FB.  He is worthy of the Alvelais / Calvert lead guitar position.

Steve Smyth seems like a nice guy but he is absolutely a bad fit in that role.  He didn't bother to learn the old solos properly in Forbidden or Testament when he was in the band.  He faked his way through many of the licks like he was in a local cover band, not the actual band!

I'm gearing up to record vocals.  Practicing my parts a lot and singing a lot of cover songs.

I'm thinking about setting up a vocal booth in my man cave and recording vocals on a lot of cover songs and uploading them to YouTube.  Mostly secular songs and probably a song from "Stop the Bleeding" as well.

Are there any cover songs you guys might want to hear me sing?

I've only listened to them a little.  I don't know any of their songs, and kinda doubt that we have common musical influences.

I think you could pull off the NWOBHM ish sound they do.

I meant like a song from each of those 3 bands.

I wonder how hard it will be to edit this video.  I'll just sing the lead vocal live so it syncs with the video and record the backing vocals after that.
