Recently Watched Movies

^Nice!  I saw that movie years ago but don't remember much of it anymore.  I started watching The Wild Bunch again not too long ago (but it got too late so I went to bed).  Have you seen that one Adam?  It's very well done.  Peckinpah was really on his game for that film (though Straw Dogs will probably always be my favorite of his).  Another Peckinpah film I thought was very good and underrated was Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia.  It's western-ish.  Both Dogs and Garcia earn their R-ratings though so don't watch with the kiddos.

Just finished Oblivion. I liked it.

Over the Top

Watched Maleficent for the first time. Meh. The FX were great, but the story was so so.

Bone Tomahawk. Very slow and brutal western with some cruel splatter scenes (only a few). Very good cast and neat cinematography, along with somehow laconic and casual fighting scenes. It is a strange movie that is not recommendable. I can't find much that makes it stand out and there have been better horror western movies.

I thought it was a very good movie! Well done in many ways. Directing and acting are superb! Great effects too!

Just watched Krull. Thought it was still a pretty good movie. The creature was a little cheesy and could have been better in my opinion.

Pixels - Better than I thought it was going to be.

Yesterday I finished Making A Murderer. It is plain shooking. Must see!

 Dreamworks' Home was very funny with nice jokes.

Shayamalan's The Visit was quite conventional. His constant hunt for the twist is so boring because he forgets that a twist doesn't make a movie. Still better than some of his other movies.

And unfortunately the type of abuse described in this documentary can occur within mainstream churches to greater or leaser extents. We left a church a year ago where the senior minister is a spiritual abuser. Makes me wonder and angry. Why do we Christians put up with these people and allow them to continue running churches?

Finished watching "Goosebumps". Not bad. Not great.

I watched Crimson Peak the other night.  I was expecting much more from it.  The acting was solid but the plot just didn't interest me much at all.

I watched Full Metal Jacket the other night. Normally I kind of stop after "Pyle" kills the sergeant (which seems like it should be the end of the movie) but the rest of it is pretty good too.

What about it did you like so much?  The set and style were pretty cool and it had very good acting.  But for a horror movie, I didn't find it very suspenseful or frightening in the least.  The ghosts really had nothing to do with the plot whatsoever and it seems were only there to make it more flashy and have something to throw into the trailers to grab people's attention.  When characters were in peril or danger, I didn't really care because I wasn't able to connect with any of them much at all.  It wasn't a terrible movie by any means, I just didn't find it to be that entertaining or interesting either.

I agree. Good movie, but not a top favorite. My kids loved it though!!

Sometimes I don't have time for a whole movie, so I end up watching it in bits and pieces - sometimes over several days time.

Just watched Shaun the Sheep Season 1 with my kids. It's a great kids show!


Last night I saw The VVitch ... not recommended. Very satanic movie.

Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. Good animated film, especially if you like the flash, but darker than i was expecting.

Watched Creed this weekend. I give it 3.5 stars out of five. Not bad I guess, since I did manage to enjoy it a bit.

Also watched Solomon Kane. Not a bad medieval/sorcery type movie. James Purefoy was the main character.
