Deepfriar wrote:Also watched Solomon Kane. Not a bad medieval/sorcery type movie. James Purefoy was the main character.
Hate to sound cliché, but I liked the books better than the movie.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
Just finished up "Growns Up 2" and "Jupiter Ascending". Growns Ups 2 was a much better movie than Jupiter Ascending.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
I saw Jupiter Ascending on the big screen...it was ok but I could have probably seen something better that day..especially considering what it cost to go to the theater these days...

I re-watched A Perfect Getaway last night. What a fun movie! It's nothing too creative or new, but it is very cleverly written, well cast and acted, and is overall just a very enjoyable suspense thriller with a comedic self-awareness.

Finally finished "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". What a dud. I loved, loved, LOVED the first one. 2 and 3 were "meh". I actually started to watch this a few times, and got bored. I can't believe that they are doing more.

One of the few Disney series that I can't stand! I like Disney most of the time, and I like Johnny Depp in most other movies. Just never liked the 'chemistry' of his acting mixed with this movie. Don't like any of em.
Been binge watching this great new show:

Just took my kids to see Zootopia. They loved it! I thought it was pretty good myself.

I watched Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. Meh. I think I was too old for this one.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
Some friends started watching that one a couple years or so ago and I ended up just leaving. I thought it was so incredibly inane and obnoxious...

Yeah I agree for me, but this movie has my all time favorite Metric Song "Black Sheep" the Clash at Demonhead butchered the songdeathisgain wrote:I watched Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. Meh. I think I was too old for this one.

Finished watching "Daddy's Home". It had me laughing out loud quite a few time. A decent movie for Will Ferrell.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
I watched Bone Tomahawk last night. There was one or two scenes that I looked away for due to the graphic nature of it... but otherwise I thought it was a very good movie and would definitely recommend. It was exceptionally casted and well-acted, the pacing was brooding but never boring, had good dialog, it was quite suspenseful, and overall a good flick!

That's not saying much. Both of them sucked pretty bad.
I went last week to the theater and saw "Alligient".
Re: Recently Watched Movies
I watched The Two Faces Of January last night. I really liked it a lot. It's suspenseful though subtle. The choices of actors was very good and all three main characters did a fantastic job. There are enough twists and turns to keep you wondering what'll happen next. Don't watch the trailer as it gives way too much away. I think it's PG-13 for very brief violence and maybe one or two four-letter words. Overall very mild in content though it does deal with some heavy/adult themes.

I didn't think Growns 2 was that bad. I started watching "The Other Guys". Not sure if I can finish it, as it just seems crap to me so far.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
The Forbidden Room. Weirdest movie ever. Not really sick or dirty or funny or scary. Like half silent movie with really trippy cinematography. It's more like a 2 hour collection of two minute semi-horror stories than a movie. It makes no sense.
One minute, it's breathing pancakes for oxygen when a lumberjack breaks into their submarine, next a girl is a bandit wolf who turns into a flower girl singing and headbanging about Aswang, the jungle vampire. Then it gets really weird...
Loved it.

How was Batman V Superman? So far a lot of fans have liked it, but the reviewers not so much.
