Re: ..and the apostasy is complete.
The homosexual issue will never go away as long as people believe it to be wrong. So, in my lifetime, there will be at least one Christian pastor who won't be accepting of this as long as God's word says its wrong. Bell sells books by pandering to what people want to hear. He got so far out in left field that even his liberal church booted him out. If Oprah is parading him around, you can bet that what he is selling has little to do with God's word. Remember, Oprah was raised with a somewhat Christian heritage but has espoused New Age beliefs over the years. Unless you get some firecracker pastor who calls her out on her show unannounced, I would seriously question any "Christian" who goes on her show to talk about their beliefs. She tends to attract people who are more in line with her than against her.

I was more than shocked to see Frank Hart from AO promoting this show on his fb page...

The real issue isn't about sex. It's about how seriously we are really going to take the doctrines of the Bible. The teachings of Paul concerning sexual morality seems to be thrown by the wayside anymore by most Christians and Churches.
I just wanted to say I have a lot of respect for you. I can't imagine how difficult it is for ministers these days.
But hey! At least Christians aren't being imprisoned and executed yet. Now that's real persecution.

I was also a fan....at first. I've read and actually own some of Bell's books myself. I just quit listening when he started denying hell and started promoting homosexuality.

When someone starts denying the clear teaching of Scripture, most people would call that apostasy.

My statement has nothing at all to do with this Bell dude.
My statement was more about the apostasy itself.
No...I don't agree with this Bell dude, but that doesn't mean I'm going to start saying that the apostasy is complete. Because honestly, it's not.

I'm not arguing your point.
I'm only arguing the point that the apostasy is complete.

I find it disturbing that one would even think that this Bell dude has completed the apostasy.

I see. You're right. One has to walk in truth first in order to apostatize from it.Mortal wrote:I find it disturbing that one would even think that this Bell dude has completed the apostasy.

I think there is a huge difference between..
A) One falling away from the faith (which would be apostasy on an individual level)
..and..
B) What is commonly referred to as THE apostasy (which the title of this thread seems to be referencing)

Ok, I realize you are over sensitive to me and my posts, but what I was saying was sorta tongue in cheek but grounded in truth at the same time. In addition to all his unorthodox views, he was making his apostasy " complete by alligning himself with Oprah. It was a joke, but its the truth as well.

That it might be a distinct possibility that all humans will be reconciled to God. Even those in hell may be reconciled to God. It seems he has been influence by some of the writings of the Church Father Origen on the matter.
