One of my all time movies. The novel is a bit different but helps you better understand the ending.
SyFi is supposed to be doing a mini series on 3001 i think next year
I read the novel when I was younger (as well as 2010), and that is the only way I ever understood the ending.

The Witch does look good. If you liked the original Halloween you should at least see the sequel as it is a continuation of the first movie.
I also thought Rob Zombie did a good job with his remakes of I and II.

Right on. I'll have to check the sequel out! It's been a long time since I've seen the original so maybe do a double feature! I dunno... Rob Zombie seems to sadistic/twisted for me... I love horror films but I hate the "torture porn" stuff like Saw and refuse to watch that stuff. How would you compare the Halloween reboots to that sort of stuff?

I'm assuming that you're referring to House of 1000 Corpses or The Devil's Rejects. Those were both movies deliberately made in the style of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He didn't try to retell Halloween. It seemed more like a tribute. I've outgrown slasher flicks myself, but I liked the Halloween remakes.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Watched the original Dracula movie on Svenghoulie. I had never seen it before and it was really good.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
While the remnants of Patricia moved through Texas, I took the opportunity to see a few movies.
The Lazarus Effect
An American Ghost Story
War Room
Children of the Corn
Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back
I tried to watch Hot Tub Time Machine 2, but turned it off after about 15 minutes. Too stupid and too vulgar.

Ravenwolf, I can't see any link or video; can anyone else? If I go to quote or edit, I can see the image link but for some reason it's not showing up on my screen. Is this just my browser?
Metaldude, I watched the first Hot Tub Time Machine and yeah, it was pretty stupid and vulgar... but it was also pretty dang funny. Not sure I'd go see the second one though. Children Of The Corn though is a classic! I saw that one a few years ago for the first time.
I saw a very good movie over the weekend. I rented The Babadook. It is very suspenseful and frightening though doesn't rely on gore or nudity to carry the movie along. In fact, the view doesn't see any hint of the monster until at least half way through. I wouldn't recommend watching the trailers, as they really don't do a good job of portraying what the movie is actually like. It's also a very intelligent film and actually has meaning and is quite symbolic of something much more than a mother and son being tormented by this creepy monster. That being said, it is by far one of the scariest movies I've seen in a long time. I highly recommend it.

I think it's your browser. What are you using? Can everyone else see the pic in my last post? It was for the show called The Returned. I can see it fine. I'm using Microsoft Edge.

^^ I still can't see it.
Kerrick, I agree about The Babadook. It's a good one. The An American Ghost Story. It's not a gorefest either.

Halloween is my favorite horror franchise, but I'm not touching Season of the Witch.
Yeah, It was a waste of time. Last movie I watched was, A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). RIP Wes Craven.

RavenWolf, I can see your picture both in your quote and original message... I dunno what's going on! Ghosts perhaps.
Ah, the original Nightmare On Elm Street is a masterpiece. I was so sad to hear of Wes Craven's passing... He was a very talented man. I LOVE the Scream quadrilogy. (I haven't seen the tv show though; I wonder how it is?) Though some of his early stuff I'm not such a fan. I wish I hadn't watched The Last House On The Left. While a well done movie, it was just too twisted, cruel, and sadistic for me. Very disturbing. (The movie it was based on though, Ingmar Bergman's classic The Virgin Spring is quite excellent though.)
