Re: Recently Watched Movies
I watched Krampus yesterday. I thought it started out very strongly but the final third of the movie kinda fell apart... The ending was kinda "meh" too. Overall I'd recommend it to folks like me who enjoy horror-comedies, but don't expect Scream, The Cabin In The Woods, or Tucker And Dale Versus Evil.

Just finished Terminator Genisys. Over all I liked it, but thought the ending was too cheesy.
Also watched Inside Out. Not bad.

Home Alone, in the theater.
I'll never forget going to that with all my college buddies back at the premier in 1990. None of us had seen slapstick like that in years and it was a refreshingly fun time. We laughed our heads off!
I lived at home after that and I remember my parents and I would watch it often.
I married and my wife and kids and I have watched it often over the years.
Then on Saturday, for the 25th anniversary of the movie, the local theater showed it. Adults were $5.00 and kids under 12 were free, so I took most of the family over and we watched it.
Right after the scene where the pizza delivery guy brings Kevin a cheese pizza just for him, the lights flicked on and a guy started shouting! Honestly, my brain immediately thought it was some kind of attack or emergency. He shouted "Hey, hey, hey, wait a minute!!! Kevin shouldn't be the only one getting cheese pizza! How about cheese pizza for everyone?!?!?!?" And then the theater employees distributed pizza to everyone in the packed theater.
Wow, what a time. The kids will remember that forever, and, so will I.

Great choice! Lawrence Kasdan co-wrote this one as well. He is the reason V was so good!

Yeah, there is a lot to this movie and it's a bit hard to follow at times. However, I ended up watching it twice. You catch a lot more the second go around! Good movie for sure!
Tonight we watched a documentary about Antarctica. Good movie too, in a different way.

Saw star wars. One thought:
1. I was bummed admiral akbar didn't say "it's a trap." I mean, Leia said "may the force be with you," why couldn't akbar say that?
I also watched Terminator: Genesys. I have a few thoughts.
1. When they reached the time machine initially, they wouldn't have been able to operate. Now, say I'm a sentient robot who can mass produce myself, what's the first thing I do so the humans can't take me over? Create two new programming languages, based in a non-Latin derived language, preferably the least well known language that is still on the internet. I do this for the reason that if I am going to be hacked, reprogrammed, or my computers will be used by humans, I want it to be in a language that can't be easily understood by the majority of the people, so if they break into a place, to use my computer to travel through time, they won't know what they're looking at. So, that's a major problem.
2. If I'm sending a robot back in time to end Sarah Connor, just send it back two hundred years and off her great, great, great grandparents when they would think robots are the work of the devil. The problem with going to the '80s or later is that there's enough available technology that a terminator can properly be destroyed. In the 1810's? Not likely. Then just go into a hibernation mode in the arctic or something and click back on at the right time.
3. Send 10 robots, not just 1. Don't just go after the Connor's, go after the Reese's. And if one robot is what they can barely stop, then how would fair against five? And when you split their defenses? They're doomed.
4. Now, we know that the defeat of the robots is not in the hand's of John Connor but instead in the hands of those who will rise up with the knowledge that Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese provide. Now, in case they can't defeat them, what they can do is send them to way out for judgement day then join the resistance. What this provides is knowledge of their groupings, where they survived after the attack and knowledge of their leaders absent John Connor. With this, they can strategically target the leaders with one of the previously mentioned robots. Nullifying the resistance.
5. Don't create labor camps. Just wipe them out as you find them.
Bing, bang, boom, terminators win! Ah, I spent too much time on that.

Just got home from watching Star Wars:The Force Awakens. My son thought it was awesome. I'm still processing how I feel about it.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
I saw the new Star Wars flick recently and while I enjoyed it... the sheer lack of creativity was just too much. I understand that they wanted to resurrect all those feelings of nostalgia from the first films - and they did that pretty well. But the plot was basically the same exact plot from the old ones except now the characters are older (but of course now with a younger generation of main characters) and the Death Star thing is bigger. Was it entertaining? Yes. Was it creative or has much of any replay value? No. I'd still recommend it but go in with expectations set appropriately.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Exactly my same thoughts. I think we can safely say it is better than episodes 1-3.
