I'm doing the same thing with my son. We're on Episode 3.
I don't think I will show him the blasphemies of I-III.

Homicycle
I did a song for this B grade grindhouse throwback a couple of years ago with 2 others finally got to see it a couple of days ago as it was finally released and it was as bad as I was expecting anyway our song got the end credits, I asked the director if I could use some footage to make a video clip for the song, so here it is
btw I played bass edited and mixed and produced the song as well as edited the clip

Re: Recently Watched Movies
I just watched "The Empire Strikes Back" with the boy. For a middle movie, I think it did a pretty good job of being a complete story in itself. I hate when there is a middle movie that just feels like something to make you go see part 3. I will say that looking at it now that I am older, Yoda comes off too puppety for me.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
I watched The 'Burbs over the weekend which was pretty good. It's a 1980's comedy about a guy (Tom Hanks) who gets caught up in the other neighbors' suspicions that his next-door neighbors are up to no good and suspect foul play. It's very goofy and entertaining but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again any time soon.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Finally watched the "Return of the Jedi" with the boy. Out of the first three made movies, I think this one might be my favorite. But that could be because of the first two. Looking forward to the next one coming out. Hopefully it is a return to form.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
In memory of Wes Craven I just watched "Wes Craven's New Nightmare". VERY different than the other NOES movies, but still good, and actually scarier than a lot of the other entries in the series.

^I've heard that one's good. I've only ever seen the original. RIP Wes Craven... While I detested The Last House On The Left (due to how disturbing/sadistic it was), Scream is one of my favorite horror franchises ever and I thought The People Under The Stairs was pretty fun haha.

Spaceballs
I've tried yet again to watch this without falling asleep. My 14 year old nephew thinks it's so hilarious. He has memorized the script. Tragically, he knows most of the references as he prods me to stay away.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
I watched "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" and it wasn't that bad. Wasn't great, but wasn't bad.
Also got to see "Age of Ultron". I have mixed feelings. Some things I liked about it, but some things I didn't. I think it was a little darker than the other movies and had an open ending. I know they are setting it for the next movies, but I hate when a movies feels like something to just get you to the next one.

Predestination. Anyone I've talked to about this movie either hasn't seen it or hated it. Personally, I liked it.

Oh gosh I saw that one in theaters and was very let down... It just wasn't funny at all! They shouldn't have advertised it as a comedy IMO.

I thought there was some very funny parts, but over all the movie was pretty predictable. I wouldn't want to pay to see it in a theater, that's for sure.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Good movie IMHO. Every Christian needs to see it. Shows how the world sees many Christians. Seems like Christians are either balanced or extremely religious. This movie shows both. Great directing and acting! One of my fave comedies actually.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Just watched this movie (Saved) with my kids and I was able to turn it into a very good lesson for them. They are both Christians and believe strongly in Jesus. However, I taught them (through the movie) how many Christians are so judgmental and are just as bad as those they think are going to hell lol.
The REAL Jesus wasn't judgmental at all, but kind. The only people he was harsh with were the religious Pharisees. He treated the sinners with nothing but kindness.
I think this movie (Saved) does a really great job of depicting how wrong Christians can be. I know when I was a young Christian I was like that. Naïve and I thought that I needed to save everyone from going to hell lol. Finally realized that I needed to work out MY OWN salvation with faith and love. And to treat others kindly. No matter what their beliefs were.
Anyway - watching this movie again for the umpteenth time made me think all about this type of thing lol.
