Re: Recently Watched Movies
I was planning on seeing Noah, and hoping I like it somewhat...
Last movie I've seen is Shadowlands, a film about C.S. Lewis.

Ha, of course you'd like Wes Anderson too. I swear man, you and I have a near-identical taste in movies! I think you'd dig it for sure. It's got the broad sense of adventure akin to The Life Aquatic but similar pacing and color-scheme to Moonrise Kingdom. It's not his best film, though I liked it a lot more than Moonrise. Let me know what you think of it once you see it!

Yeah, it would seem we do. Better than Moonrise? That's good. That was alright, not his best I thought. And that's awesome that it's like The Life Aquatic. That was an amazing movie.
And I recently watched Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal.

Yeah I wasn't as enthralled by Moonrise as everyone else seemed to be. It was good and enjoyable but far from his best IMO. The Life Aquatic is probably my favorite.
Ah Silence Of The Lambs is fantastic! Great movie. Red Dragon is also very good. I never saw Hannibal but heard it was mediocre at best.

Oh yeah, Silence was great. Yeah, Hannibal's alright. I really want to see Red Dragon, but netflix doesn't have it. Ah, well, I'll watch it one day. And I enjoyed Hannibal Rising. Never cared for the show though. I could only make it through like one or two episodes.

Was that the one with Anthony Hopkins? My wife and I balled our eyes out at the scene with him sitting there crying with Douglas Gresham. Good movie.
I finally watched "The Amazing Spiderman". Meh. I thought it took way to long to build the story up and the Lizard looked like horrible CGI. I will say that I liked the way they did the character of Spiderman and gave him more of that wise cracking additude. Also, I thought it looked like they used a lot more real actors with Spidey, which gave it a better feel to his action. I don't look forward to the second one coming out. What they are doing with The Rhino is a abomination in my opinion.

Yep, that's it. I admit I cried too.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
I got through an hour of There Will Be Blood. Then I turned it off. I asked some people on FB if it gets better and one guy just told me if I don't like it by now, I should just turn it off.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
^I saw it in theaters... To add insult to injury, the guy in front of my friend and I was super fat and at the end of the movie when he stood up, we got a full view of giant hairy massive butt-crack. Worst movie ever! Haha but seriously, it was a "well done" movie in terms of cinematography, acting, music, and the like... but the story and characters I couldn't care less about. IMO Vaak, you didn't miss anything. The moral of the story was that the main guy was one really terrible person. The end. Not my cup of tea...

Hahaha! I mean, that fat guy must've been so awful.
Ok that's sort of what I figured. I know Upton Sinclair wasn't shy about adding messages to material and figured this was headed more in that direction rather than something of greater substance. Thanks for the heads up!

I thought it was a good flick too! At first the ending really bugged me and came off as a bit forced with regards to making it endearing and "heartfelt," but once it sank in a bit, I thought the ending was rather fitting.

The first one is one of the few movies that I find pretty hilarious all the way through. The second one... fell oh so very flat in my opinion. Not NEARLY as good as the first!

I think it killed the movie. The movie was already "heartfelt" enough and would have been an awesome movie without that kind of ending. I have no interest or desire to watch it again because of the end. It was like the ending some bad B rated 80's movie would have...

Godzilla (Raymond Burr US version)
-----It was very good
Godzilla vs. Mothra
-----Not as good as the first, but I really enjoyed it. The music especially along with the singing small girls.
Captain America - The Winter Soldier

Re: Recently Watched Movies
And last night, for the first time ever, I made time to watch Howard Hawks' "The Thing From Another Planet". What a great sci-fi film!
I rank it right up there with "The Day the Earth Stood Still"
