I have been following the band since Bruce joined. I will finally see Maiden perform tomorrow. Where are the OLDER fan favorites: 2 Minutes to Midnight, The Number of the Beast, Run to the Hills, Aces High, Flight of Icarus, Hallowed be Thy Name. At least I will experience The Trooper

Megadeth - Last Rites/Loved to Deth

Putting aside the lyrics, which I'm not a huge fan of, this is a perfect way to introduce a band. You've got a really cool piano intro, then it slowly fades into one of the most frantic riffs I've ever heard. This is how you make a first impression as a metal band.

I loved the piano intro (ripped off from a classical piece IIRC) but I would've chosen Rattlehead as the first song. This is the worst song on the album IMHO, but an album I love.

I remember first hearing ToS's chorus in a YouTube video about examples of each different metal genre. At that point, I had only heard Symphony and didn't care much about checking out more, even though I liked SoD. That was the song that got me into them (and after hearing all of their songs, it's still my favorite)

Devin Townsend: Terria. This is supposed to be one of the top progressive metal albums out there. I'm about to find out. I expected singing for some reason; second song in, and I've got some great death medal vox; and oh, here's some atmospheric singing! Should be interesting.

Such a great and unique album. Kind of a mashup of all the styles they've tried over the years and easily one of their heaviest(only beaten by Drones imo)
