Re: Recently Watched Movies
So I was perhaps leaning towards more the modern movies and series, etc. So many reasons I find them abhorrent on every aspect.Grindboy wrote:I feel that Dust. For the first time in probably a few years, the other night I decided that my wife and I should watch a movie together. I stumbled upon "A Merry Friggin' Christmas" or something like that. It looked like it could be funny, had Robin Williams in it. . . worst thing ever. Just insipidly bad, IMO. My wife confirmed that there are, in fact, other better movies which exist, but dang.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Movie wasn't bad. My curiosity about Andy Kaufman was piqued since we'd been watching the Taxi (1978-1983) series lately. After seeing this film, I think it's a good thing Andy took the job on Taxi, as that would become his most iconic role, and is his most memorable (marketable) accomplishment.
Tony Clifton gets a shout out though, that guy's awesome lol.

That's a great one. Have you watched "Best In Show"? Much of the same cast, and in that "mocumentary" style. My wife loves it because she used to show dogs

Yep. Love it too. I also love This Is Spinal Tap, which has some of the same actors. Probably gonna show my wife that one next.Staybrite wrote:Pethead wrote:Showed the wife one of my favorites: A Mighty Wind.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
The wife and I recently watched Ready Or Not which we both really liked. A woman gets married into a rich family, only to discover she must "play" a deadly game of hide and seek. I recommend NOT watching the trailer if you think you might like it too. It had an especially great ending and was quite suspenseful/intense but also comedic. FYI it's rated R for somewhat brutal/bloody but relatively quick violence (oftentimes on the comedic end of the spectrum) and lots of bad language, but no sex/nudity at all.

There is at least one more movie with most of this cast in that mockumentary style called "For Your Consideration" (from 2006). The wife and I didn't care for it as much as "A Mighty Wind" or "Best in Show" (I couldn't get her to watch Spinal Tap). I think there might be another movie as well, but I have never seen it. It's called "Waiting For Guffman" (from the 90's). I've never seen it, so have no idea what it is about.

One of 2 holiday movies released on Nov 10th with the young actress Marlow Barkley.
I haven't seen Spirited yet but I would say Slumberland is the most family friendly movie I've seen in awhile. I was not disappointed.

That would be even better, seeing as it's your personal pastor blog!
Last night my wife and I had the first Friday night in a long time where it was the two of us at home without any kids! Even though they are getting to be youth age, Janice is a youth sponsor and is usually gone with them to youth group.
So we cuddled on our couch in front of the fireplace and watched the new Prime action/comedy/romance Shotgun Wedding. Lots of laughs and little thinking needed.
