The original had no censorship and is considered the most violent American film of it's era. The Production Code was not strictly enforced until 1934. Universal Pictures deemed the subject matter important enough to allow the violence to be seen.

I enjoyed it and thought it was very sobering. if you didn't know already, it's actually based on the book written by a German veteran of WW1, Erich Maria Remarque.

Another good watch is Peter Jackson's "They Shall Not Grow Old", a documentary using actual footage from WW1.

If you're going to watch Stallone Christmas films, make sure to see Rocky 4 as well (come to think of it, doesnt Rocky 1 take place during Christmas? He does take Adrian ice skating on Thanksgiving after all, so it has to be around that timeframe).

It's a documentary about the adverse effects of the vaccine. Not for the faint of heart but interesting nonetheless. It could've benefited from some more facts and numbers but still worth a watch.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

I love this movie, back in 2016 my wife and I went to a small movie theater in Berlin where they showed it in English (Germans still love their movies with German overdubs for reasons that elude me). We just had a miscarriage but this movie was one of the few rays of light in those months.

My wife and I watched the original Robocop recently. Haha that movie is so ridiculous but a classic for good reason. It strikes a pretty unique balance between dark/gritty and zany/comedic.

I’ve seen a lot of horror and action movies, but I have trouble watching Murphy’s death scene in that movie.

Yeah I remember the first time seeing it and being shocked at just how incredibly violent it was. That scene in particular was especially brutal.

I started watching The Fellowship of the Ring (extended edition) with my wife yesterday. And man it looks way better than almost any movie that was released since. We'll continue tomorrow because Mondays are for gaming with a friend of mine.

I watched that one when I was, like ten years old? Don't know. But in hindsight I can't say that I particularly enjoyed it. But yeah, that's what you get for wanting to watch a movie with your oldest brother.

I feel that Dust. For the first time in probably a few years, the other night I decided that my wife and I should watch a movie together. I stumbled upon "A Merry Friggin' Christmas" or something like that. It looked like it could be funny, had Robin Williams in it. . . worst thing ever. Just insipidly bad, IMO. My wife confirmed that there are, in fact, other better movies which exist, but dang.

I stumbled across that the other day. I think it was Williams last flick too. Sad that had to be his last.
