Re: Recently Watched Movies
Watched this on Netflix and it was incredibly LAME! Probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It is so bad that you have to see it! Full of plot holes, stupid twists that go nowhere and a very lame ending. Check it out when you have have time and you will agree - this will be one of the worst films you ever see!

HenrikB wrote:We watched Godzilla: King of the Monsters last night with the whole family. Most of the time we were just laughing at how bad this movie was.
Bad is the new good! Well, with Godzilla films, they have always been bad. Did we really expect them to have a great story as well as see the monsters break stuff?
Re: Recently Watched Movies
Saw another lame one today called "Would You Rather". Another horror type film of a guy offering people money to do things to each other. Last person alive wins. Predictable as you know who will win and the ending wasn't a surprise either.

Ford v Ferrari
I'm not that big on movies but I am a total car nut.
60s/70s muscle cars, racing, etc...
definitely some Hollywood in here but I liked it a lot. some reviewers say mostly Hollywood and not true to reality ... accuracy not-withstanding I thought it was great...
when I brought up watching it to my wife, she was ... less than enthused...
but I could tell as we were watching that she was enjoying it.
at the end I said "you liked it...you weren't expecting that were you?"
she said "yeah, it was really good"

Re: Recently Watched Movies
^Ha I loved that movie as a kid! Gosh I haven't seen that one in eons.
The wife had never seen Anaconda - another favorite from my youth haha. I forgot just how corny it was but it's a pretty fun and enjoyable flick, akin to the likewise underrated Deep Blue Sea.

Rampage (2018). Fun stuff, especially if you like giant monster movies.

Back To The Future I & II. All three are on Netflix now and I'll watch the third one later. Still great movies and great music!

Watched the 1972 Kung Fu pilot movie which prompted the Kung Fu TV series. The 3 season box set arrived recently. I hope one day to see the 1986 movie https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091361/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_172 I was never impressed with the 90's reboot.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
A few years ago, I decided that I wanted to see as many as possible of the Top Rated 250 on IMDB. Of course this list is going to change along the way as new and good movies are released, but I'm slowly getting there. When I started out, I had seen less than 100 of them, now I'm at 155 (62%). And through this, I'm finding out things about my movie watching. For example, I don't particularly like Kurosawa, even though he's considered by many to be pretty great. And I really like the Studio Ghibli movies. I probably would never have watched Kurosawa or Studio Ghibli if it wasn't for this. So...to round up this rant, I just finished the last one of the Studio Ghibli ones on the list that I hadn't seen: Howl's Moving Castle

Re: Recently Watched Movies
I watched Dirty Work last night. (Norm McDonald and Artie Lang)
YouTube has it to watch for free if you don't mind skipping ads. :B
Been a few years since I seen it. The comedy still holds up. I forgot about a couple parts, which had me chuckling again.
Laughing out loud is good times.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
I recently watched Interstellar and 1917, both for the first time. My thoughts on each are in the spoilers below.
Interstellar:
1917:
Interstellar:
- Spoiler:
I was so invested in this movie and then it lost me in an instant. I don't think I realized at first while I was watching, but I was actually rooting against Cooper's mission. I didn't want it to work. I didn't want science to be the savior. When Cooper was in the black hole and it looked as though all hope was lost, I was so engaged with the film. But when he figured out that he could send the "quantum data" through the watch hands back to Murphy, I began disliking it. The ending is so terrible. "In science there is hope" is a horrible worldview and this film tries very hard to promote it. It was entertaining for sure and very well done, but it lost my heart at the black hole scene.
1917:
- Spoiler:
This was fantastic. The idea of making it all look like one shot is brilliant. The writers balanced the action scenes with calmer (but still intriguing) scenes that follow. The way the camera moves around to draw your attention towards the details of the scenery is excellent. I very highly recommend this one.
