Re: VENEZUELAN SITUATION
Please keep praying for me and my family, the situation in Venezuela has become very tough for us, I haven't found a job yet and we are actually doing one meal per day. I am being as open as I can, this situation has affected me greatly, and more because of my son, he is only 4 years old. Everyday I wake up and go to search for job but nobody is hiring. Your prayers are very much appreciated!

who is winning the civil war in your country and who needs to win to change things for the better..

Re: VENEZUELAN SITUATION
Government.
Thing is that Maduro has threatened the people saying if for some reason the oppositors got to govern the country again they will go to the streets to riot and take back power. Our army is supposed to support the people and defend them, BUT they are part of the actual regime and they have their hands cover in dirt so they don't want to lose the power the regime has given them.
You can read about it here

Re: VENEZUELAN SITUATION
It almost sounds like you guys are trapped in a failed nation...If it weren't for internet and your reports people in the states wouldn't even know about this..they are not reporting it on the news or in the papers here...all the focus is on Europe and the middle east...The ONLY story from south America is about Zika and the massive fight America is starting to control it and vaccinate in our country...

Re: VENEZUELAN SITUATION
I will dare to say that we are trapped in a failed nation, and we've been for the past 17 years of "revolution". These guys ruined us, and they seem to be blinded and not seeing the disaster they have caused.
I talk about me and my family, we never imagined we could be in such a horrible situation just as we are now, I am sad that we didn't go out of here when we could.
All I beg you guys is to lift us in your prayers daily, we need it. Even thou the US media is not covering or talking about us, please do search for info on the net, I know the Lord has not forsaken us, but days ahead doesn't look any brighter yet.

Re: VENEZUELAN SITUATION
Nobody want immigrants from their own south, everybody approve that Mexican borders and Calais's jungle sucks but nobody find/want to find durable solution for native peoples and migrants, politics are surfing on fear and make double dealing with barely democratic countries... we all have a part of responsability.I hate to say it but alot of American citizens dont want anymore immigrants in our country and want to deport alot that are already here...especially if they are middle eastern or anywhere south of the US border.
Same here, but it's also because majority of people are not interested by issues who don't concern them directly...all the focus is on Europe and the middle east.
Sorry to hear that about your country Darth Vader, I wish it going to be better.
Keep your idea to go to Colombia, it could be a solution.
But no you've not the more idiotic government, mine given the most important honour in my country to Saudi Arabia government

Re: VENEZUELAN SITUATION
are you guys able to arm yourselves? Where I live if the power goes down for extended times crime goes up...
Guest- Guest
Re: VENEZUELAN SITUATION
No, arms are "forbidden" for general population, "only" the army and police forces are the ones that can legally have armaments.
Sadly rate of crimes are the highest in the world now, as there are lots of people armed through the black market.
The other day, a 87 years old woman was killed while the power went down and criminals took food and some money the woman had in her apartment.
Here's the news (in Spanish) http://hoyennoticias.com.ve/desgarrador-el-relato-del-nieto-de-la-mujer-de-87-anos-degollada-durante-robo/
Whenever the power goes down, we lock the house and never go out until powers comes back.

Two tweets from Hannah Dreier account:
More fallout from Venezuela's now-daily blackouts: Peoplte wait hours in line for milk, then have to watch it spoil https://www.yahoo.com/news/venezuelan-power-rationing-begins-amid-protests-212654761.html
Another consequence of Venezuela blackouts: No elevators. A 75 year-old man died this week climbing the stairs to his 18th floor apartment

Re: VENEZUELAN SITUATION
Been looking into this some more, and it really is horrifying.

I know what's happening in Europe and the Middle East is huge and all, but this really should be getting more coverage.

I just read some of the posted articles. I was a little in the dark as to the reality of the situation. Is there anything we can do to help? Can we send funds via paypal to help your family? I don't know how far 9.95 Bolivar goes but google said 1 USD = 9.95 Bolivar. Do you have a way to spend paypal money such as a paypal card or the ability to transfer it to your bank account?

Re: VENEZUELAN SITUATION
Darth Vader, have you given any thought to moving your family out of Venezuela?
Re: VENEZUELAN SITUATION
We have think about it, problem right now is, we don't have where to go, moving abroad is expensive, we would need Visas, a place where to stay and some money while we start, problem is that all the money that has been donated and the one we have received for the sales of our stuffs is going directly and only to food and some medicines.
As you checked Google $1 is 9.95 VEF But our economy is in a total wreck now than 2 pounds of potato is 900 VEF 1 pound of cheese is 1500 VEF, 30 eggs are 1700 VEF, 1 liter of milk is 490 VEF
But many of those things are difficult to find, and some are almost impossible, that's why we are doing lines of 6, 8 and or 12 hours to get supplies. You can clearly get the idea of how bad things are right now in the country with the largest reserves of oil.
I think if I would be single that would be no brainer to leave as I think I would accommodate easily anywhere, but I have a wife and also a kid 4 years old and I think it would be a struggle for them if we at least doesn't have where to stay.
We have discussed the possibility of going to at least Colombia but the boarders are closed by my government. Right now we are praying on what to do, we want to leave Venezuela but we need to move conciously.
I really need your prayers guys, God bless you all and thanks for reading.

Right, I understand you cant put your family at risk. I wonder if we could get enough people onboard with providing support when/if you do make the move
Re: VENEZUELAN SITUATION
And now: Weds, Thurs AND Fri are holidays -- to save power. Venezuela is perhaps the world's first government on a 2-day work "week."
The goverment only wants to destroy this country

I know desperation makes people do some crazy things, but wow.

"Maduro says that 'we in government don't stop working for a second'. Of course. Except for Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays!" satirized Leonardo Padron, a columnist for pro-opposition El Nacional newspaper, via Twitter,"

Everyone, Darth Vader/Karam Karam has served CMR for awhile as a mod and helped keep this place civil for us. I think we should be more than capable of giving back and helping him out. Please check out the link below:
