VENEZUELAN SITUATION

Today Lufthansa made its final flight to/from Venezuela.

Other airlines are thinking on doing the same due to the financial crisis the country is facing.

If you can help us get out of here before there are no more flights we will appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.

Please help my wife, my 4 years old son and myself to escape the nightmare my country has become to be.

Are those issues clear in the minds of the typical citizen? I'm sure that everyone knows that things are bad, but do they understand why?

No, we knew they opened the boarder once it was opened and from my city to the boarder is a travel of 8 to 10 hours depending on the weather conditions. 
I am glad that at 35,000 people crossed and were able to purchase food and medicines

How would one go about sending a care package?

If we did, what is the possiblity of it never even reaching you due to theft?

Only way to get it is by sending it through a freight forwarding company located in Miami
That's the one we used in the past, the one Blake and David used. 
And they are VERY responsible. 

But if it is send directly from let's say, USPS to the national postal service in my countr the possibility of never teaching us is VERY VERY HIGH.

Karam can give you an address for Americargo with his name, you send it to that address and they notify him of the package, he pays their boat rate and they forward it over to him via boat.

I initially tried DHL but they wanted to charge me like a few hundred dollars for shipping. So what Karam said is the way to go.

Blake is so correct. DHL charges an eye and a kidney. 
While the package that Blake sent was only $25 to the door of my house and the same for the package D@vid! sent. (Still waiting to be delivered in my house in 3 weeks)

I asked all my friends in the Carribean if they knew of somewhere you could stay until October, but they didn't know. One suggested that you try and contact a church in DF. Do you know any there?
