Howdy y'all. Thanks for accepting my request. Look forward to getting to know y'all. From San Antonio, Tx., husband, dad etc. Fav. bands would be Mortification, Holy Blood, Discern and Antidemon. Always down for recommendations in the death and heavy metal genres.

Anything? How about what you're doing wasting time on forums when you should be working on releasing the follow-up to Ageless???

Re: The INTRODUCE YOURSELF thread
Hello everyone! I have been lurking this site briefly and this seems to be one of the more mentally active metal communities I've come across that enjoy warm and friendly conversation above most other things found around message board forums. I have been appreciating the absence here of the usual trappings of heavy metal communities. I have a very strong and confident feeling that this is a place I could get along with.
I suppose it would be worth introducing myself. I have been an avid music fanatic for not much longer than 14 years and just about as much time as a heavy metal enthusiast. I have to admit I am more of a loose cannon regarding heavy metal and not as much a keen academic. I have had a very intense spiritual journey with heavy metal music and I do not believe it will end, ever. I have recently incurred a critically significant amount of inspiration and intrigue and have sought to spend more of my time in artistic social circles. I find Christians to be very spiritually "in-tune" or more specifically tend to be more proactive about their emotional well-being on a more profound and solemn degree, which overall is something I find highly valuable and generally a healthy element in life to even just associate with.
I am a multi-talented writer, painter, and game designer by artistic trade, I know next to nothing in the technical realm of music. As far as being an avid listener of heavy metal, I do not have any boundaries regarding genre or spiritual affiliation. I am in no consideration a Christian, or religious, unless you happen to consider my acceptance of the Christ as my personal lord and savior when I was much younger in early childhood. I am a atheist and and an antitheist to a a greater extent. I say this and hope to establish this now that I have no interest in spiritually persuading anyone here or having any particularly conflict-inducing discussions. I want to discover more metal music and meet friendly and emotionally healthy people that enjoy the type of music I feel passionate about. I am knowledgeable to a fair degree in world religions, especially Christianity, and recently Mazdayasna these last few years. At one point in time I use to be a "magickian" performing mostly "secular rituals" and that eventually evolved into a secular form of chaos magick, and soon after I dropped the outright silly context of that entire microcosm of thinking and denounced it for what it really was- mental poison. I then understood by way of the one and only Alan Moore that magick is just magick, and ultimately is an esoteric art of language, and in a more general scope an art of influence regarding neglected psychology. I do consider myself a "magickian" but it is by no means a title of merit and I am highly skeptical of my peers' general directions in life. It does not seem pleasant. Terrifying actually.
Anyways, a bit more about me I suppose. I was raised Christian in remote Alaska, where I still reside. I had a very mixed background attending an "Alliance" church for most of my childhood living in a military family with a literal marriage of Oregonian backwoods Mennonite, and Appalachian hills Amish traditions. I learned to read from the Bible and learned to write by transposing Scripture. I have to stay I've had an immensely horrific and unfavorable life for most of my time alive and have recently established some permanent improvements in my day to day living and I feel very pleased to meeting this kind of crowd here. Through my journeys I have come to appreciate many aspects of my Christian upbringing and I find it generally easier to get along with Christians than many other types of people.
Other immediately relevant things I can think of to mention to get out of the way mostly so they are not any kind of distraction in the future (hopefully) is I am very familiar with how "the Left" operates in the current political-cultural arena and I generally detest their self-serving sentiments and thoughtlessly ruthless demeanor, and I have have very steep distrust towards Islamic apologists overall, especially the ones whose bread and butter is outright denial and disregard.
Ok ok ok. Lengthy and somewhat dicey introduction, I know, I know, but, I am pleased to meet all of you and please feel free to message me anytime! Remote Alaska is very void of social contact, I'm trying to supplement as best as I can!
PS- I do not anticipate it, but I apologize in advance if I break any rules! I promise it is not out of malicious intent, I am very forgetful sometimes as a result of past poorly chosen life decisions.
PPS- Anyone else from Alaska here?

PPPS- obligatory obscure all-time favorite metal band reference: FLOATER, especially their first two albums Sink and Glyph. Nothing else like it. Really captured that gloom of early 90s alt metal.

Hello
My name is Lisa and I am 50. Been listening to metal for many years. I listen to mostly secular bands but I am trying to listen to more Christian bands lately. As for my tastes are all over the place but lately been on a progressive power symphonic metal lately. I like seventh wonder, innerwish and others any suggestions?

Hey this is Jon. I am reintroducing myself since I haven't been here in a long time. So long I forgot my login. I am a guitarist. I also am one of the song writers and the guitarist for Unforsaken.

Re: The INTRODUCE YOURSELF thread
I've posted a bit already, but I saw this thread so I thought I'd say a few words to introduce myself.
I've been into metal since I was 16. The first metal band of any kind that I listened to was Opeth. I was not raised as a Christian so I only listened to secular/satanic bands. I got very into the scene, collected music, went to concerts, and wrote reviews and did interviews for a metal webzine. Around the age of 21 I had a spiritual crisis and gave up on listening to most metal (keeping only a few bands I thought were acceptable). After several years of searching, I started attending an Orthodox Christian Church and converted to Christianity. A few years later, I got an urge to listen to metal again and since I had heard about Christian metal many years before (but always considered it a joke without ever having listened) I finally decided to give it a try. I got hooked on Bride and Saint and then eventually back into the extreme metal sound I used to love.
My favorite sub-genres are Black Metal, Death Metal, and Thrash Metal. I look forward to learning and sharing with y'all. God bless!

Re: The INTRODUCE YOURSELF thread
Hi there, been here since 2003, but got out of touch for many years. I used to be called ef2003 or endy.
I'm recently separated.
Love melodic death metal (renascent, immortal souls, living sacrifice, arch enemy, mors principium est, extol).
Getting back into the dating scene.

Welcome (back)! It's good to see you on here. I'm very sorry to hear about your recent separation. That's gotta be mighty rough. But I'm glad you're here and look forward to talking Christian metal with you!

Yo. Derek from South Texas. Look forward to hanging around here. Fan mostly of the old school death metal style, but some black is ok, thrash is alright. Reach out anytime.

Right on! What are some of your favorite bands?
I don't listen to much old-school death metal; usually I like my death metal doomy or proggy. I do love me some black metal though.
