Most impactful book
Outside of The Bible, which I hope has impacted everyone here the most, what is the one book you always refer back to as a book that changed everything? It can be fiction, non-fiction, Christian or not, doesn't matter, I just want to know.

For me, I believe the one book I have come back to more times in my life than any other book, is The Pilgrim's Progress.

Some might find this cheesy, but I would say The Resolution. It really challenges you in every area of being a man, as God designed us.

I know I'm not supposed to count the bible, but I have a 50lbs family bible that I'm quite sure if I were to let it drop would be very....
Seriously though. I don't know. Right now the Sex & Money book is doing wonders in shoring up my thinking.
Of course PP is a very rich and wonderful book that I do love. I love the character names, especially those of vanity fair. Sir Having Greedy and Lord Hate-good.

I did enjoy Clarke's "Rendezvous with Rama" but have not read "2001".

I just saw the movie for the first time this year and really enjoyed it. So, I'll probably enjoy the book even more.

Great book. Modern Christians would be way better off picking up this one over your average fare contained at the local Christian book store.

Re: Most impactful book
Wow....too many to mention.
Also, when we say " impact " that can mean positive and negative.

Re: Most impactful book
I will have to check out the Pilgrim's Progress.
It might sound weird, I haven't gotten all the way through it, though I'm making extremely slow progress, but Foxe's Book of Martyrs I have found keenly interesting and it has really had a greater and greater impact on me than anything other than the Bible.

Tom Clancy - The Hunt for Red October
It got me into reading. I didn't read a single book not required for school through middle and high school. My first semester in college I had to read a book that was turned into a movie, watch the movie, then write a compare/contrast essay on it. This is the book I chose (over 15 years ago) and I've been an avid reader ever since.

"Tortured for Christ" by Richard Wurmbrand
"The Final Quest" by Rick Joyner

That's actually a pretty good book! I read that years ago! Very symbolic. Can't say I agree with every last detail, but overall - it's a very nice big-picture view of the end times and other stuff.

My favorite book is The Mote In God's Eye by Larry Niven. It is a bit dated now but I love the stories of Niven big time. Footfall and Lucifer's Hammer as well as Inferno are breathtaking. The Wool omnibus by Hugh Howey is also fantastic. This Present Darkness is a very thrilling novel by Frank E. Peretti. All in all I'm an avid reader of Science Fiction.

Great book. That sad thing is that its needed just as much today as it was back when it came out.
