Re: The book thread
I'm trying hard to read a lot more, I figure it's better than just watchin TV/Laptop all the time ha ha.
I'm going for a Christian and secular book a week but i'm finding it hard to do both so may cut it down to one.
I'm currently reading Black Sabbath biography (Mick Wall) and Kingdom of fools by Nick Page which is about how the early church started

Last book I finished was The Martian. I emailed the author yesterday with a thank you for how good it was and he replied. That was nice.

Passion & Purpose by Jimmy Seibert
It's a book about the story of the guy who founded my church, Antioch community church. It's a good read showing good working through his life and the church.
The Father Heart of God by Floyd McClung
A book about, well, better understanding food and how our perception of our parents may shape our perception of God. It's good stuff too.

Re: The book thread
I'm very much into reading my books multiple times. There's several books by Tim Keller that I've read the past few months; I recently finished The Meaning of Marriage for the second or third time (will repeat, because it's important!), and I made a new start in The Reason for God, but I put it on hold again because I don't have my own copy.
Another book I recently revisited is Patience with God by Tomás Halík, a Czech priest. Very intelligent and down-to-earth book, if you can get past the fact that there's some roman catholic stuff in it.
I also recently bought Kevin Deyoung's book on homosexuality and the Bible. Important subject-matter; I finished it in a few days and now my mother in law reads it (her daughter, so my sister in law, is a practicing lesbian).
And because my wife says I'm reading too much non-fiction, I also started reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë.

You can never read too much non fiction
I generally prefer it. nothing against fiction, I just find I can hold my interest for longer

Currently working on:
The Civil War - Shelby Foote (I'm early in vol. 2)
Neal Morse - Testimony
Le Morte d'Arthur - Malory*
*I also read mostly non-fiction but I'm working my way through some classic lit too.
