By the way, I gave him a research topic, namely reading surah 69 verse 44-46 in the quran. But first he must read Sunan Abu Dawud 4498 and 4499, and Sahih Al-Bukhari 4428, which are all strong hadith. Interesting stuff.

OK, I feel far beyond stupid. Apparently last month was the deadline to subscribe for voting for the next Dutch parliament from abroad, and I thought it was this month... Hereby I forfeit the right to complain about the Dutch government for the next four years (maybe).

Wahoo!  The wife and I are gonna head up to Oakland this evening to see Alcest!  I'm stoked.    They've been one of my favorite bands for many years now.  I've seen them twice before and they put on a very good show IMO.

Knight's Tale was ok, but I get the feeling that was pretty much a spoof/parody (they actually had a scene with the Nike logo on a suit of armor). Im thinking more of a straight medieval action film with stuff like Hammerfall, Dragonforce, Stratovarius, Edguy, Avantasia, Rhapsody, etc (i'd save Sabaton for a war film) on the soundtrack.

On an unrelated note... Yesterday evening on our way to dinner, a car drove right into my car while I was stopped at a red light. No one was hurt and there was not much damage to my car though theirs was a bit more. My car is still totally drivable and it’s just the bumper and possibly the hood’s fit/alignment. I’m not sure what happened haha! Veronika and I were totally stopped, waiting to turn and this car turning left through the intersection just drove right into us! It was dark and raining but I had my lights on… so I dunno. It was a woman and her teenage son (?). She didn’t speak much English but they were friendly enough. Now the insurance companies will figure it out. Such fun!

Welp! Glad everyone's ok.

Watching Metallica and Lady Gaga perform "Moth Into Flame" makes me realize how a great performance and professionalism will always win out over technical problems. Hats off!

Got pulled over yesterday on my way to work. The cop said I was driving 66 in a 55 (I was actually going faster, but whatever) and she let me off with a warning to watch out for deer.

I have a feeling it wasn't for speeding at all, but the cop probably saw my beard and the big cloud in my car (from vaping) and just wanted to make sure that I wasn't a thug. LOL

No, it was your broadsword mounted behind the driver's seat that had her concerned.

I'd love for someone to do a metal version of this song. My kids have it playing in our house almost daily because they think it's hilarious.

I think it's interesting that out of all the potentially difficult things to accept in Christianity, the thing that people tend to find the most offensive and that causes the most conflict right now is our sexual ethic.

Just more evidence that we truely do live in a hypersexualized culture.

It feels kind of cool to rationally criticize the point of view (or lack thereof) of the highest court of the Netherlands. Studying law does have its perks...

-Low self worth
-Bad health/disease
-Divorce/broken relationships
-Drug use and alcoholism
-Loss of money
-Loss of freedom
-Violence
-Murder
-Suicide

Valentine's Day, I went to bingo with my wife. There's about 100 people there in the Legion hall the next town over. I have no interest in the game, but I wanted to spend quality time with my wife and she asked me to come along. It was me, my wife, her mom, and her grandma. The way we do it, is if someone wins, the winner gets half, the other half gets divided to the other 2. (grammy wants to risk flying solo and keep the winnings LOL)

Anyway, my wife won the $900 pot. Her mom won a $500 pot. Even though I didn't win, I still "won" by proxy. Pretty nice to finish that evening with over $360 extra cash in my wallet. HAHAHAHAHA!!!
