Dangit! I was TRYING to respond to Thomas's post (below). I must've accidentally clicked on the second-to-last page instead of the last one...
That being said, my parents only got to celebrate for about four years because I ended up moving back in with them for a year after college and now my sister is living with them again hahahahaha...

As far as brown sugar and pudding in chili, I will pass. That just sounds putrid to me.
Talk to a chili contest winner some time. Chocolate and brown sugar aren't original thoughts of mine.

Sometimes, like right now, when it's 9:30AM, and I should have been in bed asleep 2 hours ago, yet here I sit in my car, in my driveway, still on the Internet on my phone, I realize I do not always behave in the smartest, most logical manner.

-yoctosecond
-1 Planck time

I got tickets to see Sonata Arctica in December! I am very excited because 1) they were one of the first metal bands I discovered and 2) it will be Veronika's first heavy metal concert!

After you post here, does it stay on the page with the 2 options to either see your post or return to the forum? Until yesterday it always auto-ed to the post.

Mine has always stayed at the two options.
I think it is just changed in profile settings somewhere?

Had a bit of a break last night. Was up until 4am seriously contemplating suicide. What good is 4 months of chemotherapy to make me live 50 more years, if I'm ready to kill myself after a month straight of being the most sick I've ever been in my life?

Life isn't about you or about me; it's about God and glorifying Him. I expect that these words seem thin in light of your pain and frustrations, as I'm quite sure I'd find them as such if I were in the same situation. Nevertheless, we must all press on to and meditate upon that which is true. To God be the glory. Cry out to Him. I'll pray for you.ThomasEversole wrote:Had a bit of a break last night. Hi. I've been following this site pretty closely for a while, and decided to recreate my account. I've been here under several names in the past, and started getting more interested in discussions and thought I'd join back up. I'm not Christian anymore, but I'm not here to cause trouble; I just haven't been drawn to nonreligious metal forums for whatever reason.

That's probably the nicest thing anyone has said to me here. Thank you.

Luckily, the situation is not black and white. There are other options besides jumping straight back into chemo on Monday and never doing chemo again.
What's wrong with taking a week off? That's my question to my oncologist. Being alive for 1 week would do so much for me spiritually/mentally.
It would be different if I was stage 4 and fighting for my life. I was stage 3 at the highest and 42 lymph nodes checked, no one had seen cancer in me since April.
It would also be different if I had round the clock supervised care with chemo. Instead, I get told that I'm "young and can handle it" and get to suffer at home without medications to combat the horrible chemo effects.
Ever see these cancer commercials where the person is bald and in a wheelchair? They could walk and have hair if it wasn't for the effing chemo, man.

Tried researching chemo to find something that helps. I only find bad stuff. This article from a few months ago says chemotherapy kills more people than war, terrorism and suicide COMBINED.

I can't even image what you are going through, but I will pray that God will give you the strength and wisdom that you need to carry on.

I kind of guessed that info like that was going through your head. What a dilemma. I don't know what I would do for sure but I have often thought about what I'd do in the scenario as it seems to happen often. I think that I'd go with it as long as I could afford it.ThomasEversole wrote:Tried researching chemo to find something that helps. I only find bad stuff. My oncologist is cool with me taking a week off. I got a naggy speech where I'd get the best results if I kept on schedule, but they understand quality of life, blah blah blah...
