Well, none of us know all the details of the future, not even those who have prophecy charts .

We know that Jesus is coming back and so we can have hope. But we also know that right now around the world our brothers and sisters in Christ are suffering horribly for their faith and that we are not promised exemption from that. We definitely don’t have any reason to expect sunshine and roses all our days on this earth.

I'm not hopeful at all for the country and what we refer to as the westernized world.Being a student of history one can see us doing everything that destroys a country/culture what with the insane money printing, off the charts decadence and corruption and an apathetic people. Now, I'm not God so I don't know his plans but we're destroying ourselves and quickly.

It does fit the pattern in history. Rome crumbled from the inside before it was toppled from without. 

And the speed at which this nonsense has infiltrated the church is mind boggling.

Having kids has definitely tempted me more to anxiety for the future, something I need to confess and pray about.

It’s insane to me just how polarizing Trump is. I very rarely see neutral opinions of him, it seems that most people either think he’s basically a “messiah” who will save America, or literally Hitler 2.0. Both left and right wing political sphere are completely obsessed with him. Almost as obsessed as he is with himself

He's not a messiah.  But for decades I prayed for someone who would challenge and upset the entire political system.  
I wanted a bull in a china shop.  Everyone else goes to Washington and gets bought off by special interests and foreign governments.  So far he is the only one who can't be bought.  That is why some of us like him, at least for that.  

Unfortunately he is far from perfect and ends up causing trouble for himself.   

But...on balance the choice is between the entrenched corruption and evil, or someone who will fight for the country.

Still, he's only one man and I agree that people forget that and treat him as some kind of superhero.  WE have to be the change too, we cannot just rely on one flawed human being.

Same about Desantis. I think Trump should honestly have stepped down and let Desantis take the spot, but of course his ego would never allow him to do that. My overall view of Trump is rather negative, but claiming he’s some sort of fascist nazi is insane. And I still plan to vote for him simply because the alternative is so much worse

And as for the rule, I think a quarantined politics thread (or section, like the theology realm) might be a good compromise, so we could have a place to talk about politics without spamming the forum as a whole
