Why is the thumbs down button anonymous… while giving a thumbs up to a perceived rude comment shows who a person is?

Likes and dislikes in general are a stupid feature. The only time they could be useful is for something like a tutorial video on youtube, so you can get an idea whether it’s worth watching or not by the ratio (although youtube removing the dislike counter made this functionality null and void). Ultimately they mean nothing whatsoever and only serve to feed people’s approval addiction (hence all the like-beggars you see on social media platforms)

But likes make me feel as though my opinion is valued, that I am valued as a member of society, and the tingles I get from like feels amazing! However, the dislike button is now the like button. No this is not reverse psychology. It' FACTS!

I just consider them a way to show agreement without having to write a new comment
