Worst Cover Art (Christian Metal)

Love the songs, but the cover... ew

This isn't really the worst but it is so lazy! I saw this album in the cut-out bin of a record store in the mid-90's and because the cover looked horrible I ignored it. Never heard of the band so the boring font, the hardly discernible candle in a dark, rainy window with white crud dirtying up the view (whatever that mess is supposed to be), and the crappy band photo had me thinking it was some AOR, light-rock, Richard Marx sounding junk. I was often buying albums based on album covers back then (My two favorite bands Savatage, Blind Guardian were purchased in part because of that). I missed out on this album back then because of this terrible cover.

What is worst for me maybe not worst for you. What is worst for you might not be worst for me.

That’s what I was saying! Let’s just say his facial bone structure is “interesting”. He could have a career in the movies as a villain. Especially in a Batman movie.

I’m thinking more along the lines of Billy Idol meets “The People Under the Stairs”.

Stryper wore the makeup, but it wasn’t as creepy as some of those guys posted above. Especially the two guys on the left from Stryken (and the guy in the middle from Holy Right). They have that “Night of the Demons” look.

Night of the demons- yeah they do man. Ha, you member that film- grew up on those and loved them back then. Now it's all pure nostalgia- same with demons. April fools was a classic too. Stupid fun.

Haha! Yep. I was glued to HBO in the 80’s and early 90’s. I also loved Tales From the Crypt.

For me these are 3 of the cheesiest Christian metal albums covers ever:
















However even the cheesiest Christian metal covers are still light years better than many of the old Christian hymn / folk / pop album covers like these:
