Ace Frehley ~ Space Invader
You know, this planet has been in trouble
For a thousand years we've all been blind
There's no trime to waste, give up the struggle
We must embrace our host, give it up for
Space... invader
He comes from distant galaxies
Space... invader
He stands before you to set you free
No rhyme or reason, no peace of mind
The earth's survival will coincide
The danger is near, of his arrival
We must accept out fate, give it up for
Space... invader
Now gaze upon the space invader
He comes to save us from light-years away
Our space invader knows we've lost our way
Destined for greatness our race will survive
Behind his majesty we'll be united
And know the meaning of life
The time is now, no need to worry
Just put your trust in him,…

“Burn In Hell” by Twisted Sister off the Stay Hungry album.
Take one good look in your heart
Tell me what do you see
It’s black and it’s dark
Now is that how you want it to be?
It’s up to you
What you do will decide your own fate
Make your choice now
For tomorrow may be far too late
And then you’ll burn in Hell
Take one good look in your heart
Tell me what do you see
It’s black and it’s dark
Now is that how you want it to be?
It’s up to you
What you do will decide your own fate
Make your choice now
For tomorrow may be far too late
And then you’ll burn in Hell

HaHa, you beat me to it. I was just about to post this today. Glad that I glanced up first. I agree that this Tyrant is not Christian but this album sure seems to be. They just came out with a new album on May 15 called 'Hereafter'. Giving it a spin nowConstantine wrote:Tyrant - King Of Kings
Our father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done
On Earth as it is in Heaven....
The church was dark and oh so very cold
The steps echo through the entrance of these halls
The full moon brings stained glass to life…once again
Shadows fall across his pale face
I feel the sorrow that once filled this empty space
A small stream of blood flows from his crown…and down his cheek
King of Kings, Lord of Lords…won't you
Save us from the gates of hell?
King of Kings, Lord of Lords
Rain pours from the darkened sky
The demon worries when the preacher walks by
Crack of thunder when the church bell rings…it’s time to pray
Our Father, who art in Heaven
Blessed be his hallowed name
A man of grace, a man of glory
This world's gone insane

That makes sense because I believe Binary Creed IS a Christian band. A couple of cool tunes you listed aboveConstantine wrote:
Binary Creed - Turn To The Cross
To conform is a necessity
My transformation has begun
I'm leaving home
I'll adapt to your society
This insanity
Is slowly killing me
Reveal to me what I must do
Reveal to me the truth
Will I hear? Will I feel?
Will I turn to the cross?
Will I pray? Will I be free?
Will I turn to the cross?
What's the light that I have yet to see
Will I hear the voice of god
or taste his blood?
Can his sacrifices rescue me
From my heresy
From this insanity?
Reveal to me what I must do
Reveal to me the truth
Will I hear? Will I feel?

^I listened to some of the new Tyrant album a few weeks ago. Disappointingly unChristian after that King of Kings album. Musically good though.
We can also add another Tyrant song to this list:
Tyrant - The Battle Of Armageddon
I saw the beast and the kings of the earth
And their armies gathered together to fight the god they cursed
The beast and false prophets were taken from their thrones
They were cast alive to the fire and brimstone
Satan and his armies marched into the valley
Bodies on the pile, paths of destruction
You will see the fires of hell rain throughout the night
CHORUS:
The battle of Armageddon, the battle of Armageddon
Angels in the skies wings a fiery blaze
The devils' balls of fire can see them
Through the haze good against the evil, evil sure to win
CHORUS
Lightning in the sky, thunder clouds roll by
Battle's finally over, Satan's time to die
God has taken over, peace throughout the land

Re: Most 'Christian' song from a SECULAR metal or hard rock artist or band
Unfortunately they have stated in interviews that they are NOT in any way a Christian band.oldschooldoom wrote:That makes sense because I believe Binary Creed IS a Christian band. A couple of cool tunes you listed above
I found this extremely disappointing because many of the lyrics from that first album had a lot of depth to them from a Christian point of view. The 2nd album did not, however, and was rather disappointing musically too.
Re: Most 'Christian' song from a SECULAR metal or hard rock artist or band
Oh, well that's sad. I only have their first album. Probably needs updating, I see them still listed as singing about Christianity here https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Binary_Creed/3540388156Constantine wrote:Unfortunately they have stated in interviews that they are NOT in any way a Christian band.oldschooldoom wrote:That makes sense because I believe Binary Creed IS a Christian band. As far as I can see at the moment, I'd go with this song from Swedish power metal band Palantír. According to the CD booklet, the drummer is christian, and he wrote a few songs as well (including lyrics). So here goes:

This song is more than philosophy, it is a cry out to God to save his soul and protect him from darkness
Here are the lyrics
Dark drops of sorrow will fall again tomorrow
Staining my soul and corrupting my mind
I’ve fallen from heaven, my wings turned to ash
Forsaken and broken I cry out your name
I followed your orders; I did it all right
So why must I suffer? I don’t understand
If this is a lesson then what’s there to learn?
I don’t see a reason for this act of evil
Demons are dancing around me at night
They bind me in chains made of fire
Darkness is forcing its way to my heart
Hear me cry out; I won’t make it alone
Take my hand and tell me of light
Use your power to heal and restore me
Save my soul from evil and hate
Come and be the centre of my life
My vision is clouded by tears in my eyes
Lost in a nightmare I stumble and fall
I don’t know if I have the strength to go on
Have you no compassion for this broken spirit?
Demons are dancing around me at night
They bind me in chains made of fire
Darkness is forcing its way to my heart
Hear me cry out; I won’t make it alone
Take my hand and tell me of light
Use your power to heal and restore me
Save my soul from evil and hate
Come and be the centre of my life

Thank you WildWildWorld for that Sabbath suggestion, there was another Sabbath song with Christian meanings but I just couldn't remember until you suggested Lord of This World https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qeQQ0al40kWildWorld wrote:People always bring up After Forever (sometimes Lord of this World) as Sabbath's Christian songs, but what about Into the Void? Yeah, it's about spaceships leaving the Earth, but look near the end of the song:
Past the stars in fields of ancient void
Through the shields of darkness where they find
Love upon a land a world unknown
Where the sons of freedom make their home
Leave the earth to Satan and his slaves
Leave them to their future in their grave
Make a home where love is there to stay
Peace and happiness in every day

Forbidden Evil
(Originally written and performed by Forbidden)
Killers thrill, endless slaughterMother cries, her tortured daughter
Tattered flesh and silky hair
Rip her soul and left her bare
Unbelievers hold evil, learn or burn
Commit hate and torture, your soul will burn
Bloody angel drenched in sin
Ripped down to blistered skin
Its wings decay, fallen prey
Holy Lord please end this day
The king of death shall rule
His plague of Hell is fire
He's come to fight his duel He's worshipped with desire
Behold forbidden evil, he's come to fight you'll see
Behold good God the Savior, will rule eternity
Prince of Hell surrounds the Earth Fulfilling what is said
The demons scream from Hell and kiss the bloody birth
Forbidden Evil

Yes I know. The song Revival is penned by the same band member, and also has christian overtones. You could get away with a love song as interpretation, but considering the abovementioned song and the fact that he explicitly thanks God in the booklet, it's kind of clear to me. Hopefully he will do more songs on their sophomore album.oldschooldoom wrote:Andreas89 wrote:As far as I can see at the moment, I'd go with this song from Swedish power metal band Palantír. Even though the band is far from Christian (they unfortunately wrote an anti-Christian song on a later album), White Lion's When the Children Cry definitely has a Christian message, singing about one united world under God. It was even covered by a Christian band (Seventh Day Slumber):

Even the song “Burn in Hell” has a basic (turn away from evil) message.

The Sacred Rite lyrical theme is very similar to the last words of Sabbath's Electric Funeral
"And so in the sky shines the electric eye
Supernatural King takes earth under His wing
Heaven's golden chorus sings, hell's angels flap their wings
Evil souls fall to hell, ever trapped in burning cell"

^ I didn't expect that from Van Hager, but maybe from Gary Cherone era
Though not historically correct, here is Emerson, Lake & Palmer in 1973
ELP-Jerusalem lyrics
And did those feet in ancient time,
Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy lamb of god
On England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the countenance divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among these dark satanic mills?
Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear, oh clouds unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!
I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand
Til we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land

Re: Most 'Christian' song from a SECULAR metal or hard rock artist or band
For the lyrics to the above mentioned Van Halen song, here ya' go:
"Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do)"
"Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do)"
It's ok, I'll do what I want
If I choose, I can take the fall
There's a choice
It's my destiny
In my hands
Yeah it's up to me
I can drive
I can shoot a gun in the streets
Score me some heroin
I can jump
Be the sacrifice
Bear my cross just like Jesus Christ
And I don't wanna hear what love can do
No, I ain't gonna tell ya what's right for you
Is it right to take the easy way
Close your eyes
Get on your knees and pray
Now you're saved by a higher voice
Givin' up, givin' up, givin' up your choice
If I'm wrong then I'll pay for it
If I'm right, yeah you're gonna hear about it
But I've tried, yeah I've tried for it
I tried, I tried, 'til I'm satisfied
And I......
I'm tired of hearing what love can do
and I.....
Ain't gonna tell you what's right for you
I've seen the damage done
Down with the shotgun
Don't stop the setting sun on my kingdom come
Ohhhh.......
Is it right to take the easy way
I don't know
I get on your knees and pray
Now I'm saved by a higher voice
Givin' up, givin' up, givin' up my choice
If I'm wrong then I'll pay for it
If I'm right, yeah you're gonna deal with it
'cause I've tried, yeah I tried for it
I tried, I tried, even die for it
No I.....
Don't wanna hear what love can do
No I....
I can't tell you what's right for you
Oh I.... I... I.....
Tell you what love can do
No I... I... I...
Can't say but your time is through
I've seen the damage done
Oh Lord, I've heard the shotgun
I fought the setting sun on my kingdom come
Ohhh.......
Don't tell me what love can do
Hey, hey, hey
Don't tell me what love can do
Hey, hey, hey
If I choose, I can take the fall

These words gave me the most hope and encouragement when I was at my lowest
Triumph - Fight the Good Fight Lyrics
"The days grow shorter and the nights are getting long
Feels like we're running out of time
Every day it seems much harder tellin' right from wrong
You got to read between the lines
Don't get discouraged, don't be afraid, we can
Make it through another day
Make it worth the price we pay
The Good Book says it's better to give than to receive
I do my best to do my part
Nothin' in my pockets I got nothin' up my sleeve
I keep my magic in my heart
Keep up your spirit, keep up your faith, baby
I am counting on you
You know what you've got to do
Fight the good fight every moment
Every minute every day
Fight the good fight every moment
It's your only way
All your life you've been waiting for your chance
Where you'll fit into the plan
But you're the master of your own destiny
So give and take the best that you can
You think a little more money will buy your soul some rest
You'd better think of something else instead
You're so afraid of being honest with yourself
You'd better take a look inside your head
Nothing is easy, nothing good is free
But I can tell you where to start
Take a look inside your heart
There's an answer in your heart
Fight the good fight every moment
Every minute every day
Fight the good fight every moment
Make it worth the price we pay
Every moment of your lifetime
Every minute every day
Fight the good fight every moment
Make it worth the price we pay"

Re: Most 'Christian' song from a SECULAR metal or hard rock artist or band
Here's another encouraging song
Journey-City of Hope
People waiting for some kind of sign from above,
Lost in the shadows of doubt, need a message of love,
Nothing is certain in uncertain times,
Hard to see beyond the greed and the crime,
Oh, the faithful refuse to give up,
Homeless and hungry survive just enough,
Learn to smile through it all,
They are blessed from above
Never stop believin' change will come
There's a city of hope beyond our fears,
Where miracles happen,
Where truth can be heard,
Don't you wanna go to the city of hope
On the edge of the world, across oceans of blue,
It's a place where a dream has a chance to come true,
Don't be fooled by illusions, or falling from grace,
Make your own destiny, find your own place,
Where the streets speak the lessons of trouble, hope and pain
Never stop believin' change will come
There's a city of hope beyond our fears,
Where miracles happen,
Where truth can be heard,
Don't you wanna go to the city of hope
Founded on faith,
Connecting us all,
A network of love to answer the call,
Yeah, that's where I'm from
The city of hope
I hear them whisper, sendin' a prayer,
A cry to the spirit where they no longer wonder
Never stop believin' change will come
There's a city of hope beyond our fears,
Where miracles happen,
Where truth can be heard,
Don't you wanna go to the city of hope

[Verse 1]
You're searching for your mind, don't know where to start
Can't find the key to fit the lock on your heart
You think you know, but you are never quite sure
Your soul is ill, but you will not find a cure, yeah!
[Verse 2]
Your world was made for you by someone above
But you choose evil ways instead of love
You made me master of the world where you exist
The soul I took from you was not even missed, yeah!
[Bridge]
Lord of this world
Evil possessor
Lord of this world
He's your confessor now
[Verse 3]
You think you're innocent, you've nothing to fear
You don't know me you say, but isn't it clear?
You turn to me in all your wordly greed and pride
But will you turn to me when it's your turn to die? Yeah!
