Holy wow! Aquaman was really awesome!
The effects were some of the best I have ever seen, and the acting was great all around, the story was the only thing slightly lacking, definitely one of my favorites of the last few years

The Greatest Showman. Good entertainment, but not really a good movie, if you ask me.

AQUAMAN!!!
After DC knocking it out of the park with Wonder Woman and now Aquaman, Marvel may find itself on a downward turn once they begin to retire our more well known characters and focus on either lesser known or newer incarnations of old favorites. When they begin to switch from Iron Man to Iron Heart, when Thor becomes a woman, and Spidey moves from Peter Parker to Miles Morales, I just don't think I will care as much. I think a lot of fans will move on as well. DC is finally getting the formula right!

Perinbaba (English: The Snow Fairy). It's a Czechoslovak classic that my wife watched with her family every Christmas as a kid. It's a fantastic and very creative movie with some of the best set designs and visuals you'll see. It's a lot of fun and quite heart-warming too. I highly recommend! It's about a young boy who's saved by the Snow Fairy from her sister Death so he can live forever and help her make snow for the world. But he sees a young girl who he falls in love with so he goes back to Earth to be with her. But of course she's got an evil step-mother, etc. It's great fun.
The entire movie is posted on youtube but without subtitles. So you've gotta download the youtube video and download the subtitles (which are available online too) which is a bit of a hassle but totally worth it. The trailer doesn't really do it justice... but even just watch the opening scene (what they're saying isn't important in it) to get an idea:

I watched Bad Times At The El Royale the other night. I liked it quite a bit and thought it was very well done.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Since cable and internet are finally back we got around to watching The Christmas Chronicles. A decent movie, Netflix seems to be getting good at original content. Also watched Bird Box but waited til everyone was in bed.

Watching Braveheart on IFC. Still one of the best epic historical war films ever made, in my opinion.

Kerrick wrote:I'm really looking forward to seeing Prospect this afternoon! My cousin in-law directed it so y'all should go see it for that reason alone haha, though also to support the indie scene - and because it's supposedly a really great movie regardless. It's been getting consistently very positive reviews. Check it out!
Is there anywhere to stream this film?
Re: Recently Watched Movies
Watched Avengers: Infinity War, Bird Box, and First Man Into Space (an old b&w movie)
Infinity War was much better than I thought it would be, actually really enjoyed it.
As for Bird Box, I couldn't stand it. Honestly, it seems like a rip-off of The Happening, but they replaced the plants with aliens.

Not a movie but getting into Travellers on Netflix. Pretty cool show so far and season 2 (or maybe season 3?) just showed up.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Season 3 was released recently. I've been enjoying it. Usually time travel shows run a tired old track and burn out quickly, but this one has done a pretty decent job of keeping it fresh. The first episode really hooked me with it's twist at the end. The last episode of season three really got me. That is all I will say.MikeInFla wrote:Not a movie but getting into Travellers on Netflix. Pretty cool show so far and season 2 (or maybe season 3?) just showed up.

The Lego Batman Movie. Fun movie, but I was surprised at how deep it could get at times (then again, I thought the same thing about the original Lego movie).
