Re: Recently Watched Movies
Finally watched Avatar..yeah, I know, a little behind on the times.
I really liked it...still can't stand Sam Worthington though, and he was easily the worst part of the movie.

This past summer i got to scratch an item off my bucket list. I saw 2001 A Space Odyssey on the big screen, for a limited time in IMAX theaters they were playing it for its 50th Anniversary. So naturally I jumped all over it to see it.
Saw Aquaman somewhat recently Loved it!!!

Venom
They dropped the F word a couple of times, and the P word once, but at least it wasn't on the level of Deadpool.
Anyway, I really liked the film.
I thought it was fun, and the banter between Brock and Venom was fantastic.

Captain Marvel
Yeah, I'm going to need to watch that again!
Be sure to stay for the TWO end credits.

Ghostbusters (2016). Not as bad as you've heard, but really, the only reason to watch this is for Chris Hemsworth's character. Everything that came out of his mouth had me ROFL.

Oh man (er, person), you're gonna be in hot water with the feminists!

One of my favorites! I owned this on VHS then upgraded to DVD and now to blu-ray hahaha. Have you seen Bedtime Story, the original version? For the longest time I had no idea that Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was a remake. I'm yet to see the original but it's on my list...

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Annihilation with Natalie Portman
Have had this on my Vudu account for some time now and finally watched it.
Yuck....absolutely yuck...
What a crap fest.
I can't believe it has such a good rating, unless people are simply giving it a good rating so that they don't look like they are aren't "enlightened" enough to understand.
I thought the sfx were lazy and the plot was thrown together without any real thought where it was going.
I'll be deleting this from my library so I never have to even see the thumbnail icon again

After that glowing endorsement I'm glad I skipped it.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Dang, I thought that one looked pretty good. It's been on my watchlist since long before it ever came out! It was directed by Alex Garland who wrote 28 Days Later, The Beach, and Sunshine - all of which I really enjoyed. Though I didn't care much for his directorial debut Ex Machina.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
I agree, this movie is DEFINITELY NOT child friendly! I don’t just mean like there’s a couple jump scares! There are scary, gross monsters that will definitely scare children and there’s a lot of swearing! I was very disappointed with those parts because Shazam is usually a family friendly superhero! I mean it’s a boy who literally becomes a massive superhero- like every boy’s dream right???
Reminder: there are TWO post credit scenes you should stay to watch!

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Agree that the profanity is unnecessary, but when I grew up, kids LOVED gross, scary monsters. Heck, shows like He-Man/She-Ra, Inhumanoids, and Real Ghostbusters were filled with them. Now granted, I havent seen Shazam yet, so I dont know how scary the monsters look yet.

I actually liked Ex Machina. Freaky ending though.
