Very cool! How are you liking those Antestor albums? Do you have Kongsblod/The Return Of The Black Death yet?

Jammed Martyrium a few times through, but The Forsaken is just such a great album, have it on repeat a lotKerrick wrote:Very cool! How are you liking those Antestor albums? Do you have Kongsblod/The Return Of The Black Death yet?
I actually was going to pick up the Kongsblod re-issue this next week, do you recommend that or The Return version?
How big of a difference is there?

Re: Recent Purchases (Christian)
Nice. Yeah The Forsaken is kinda in a league all of its own. Martyrium is much more raw and unpolished, though the title track - as short as it is - is just sooooo good. It took a little while for that album to grow on me.
As for Kongsblod vs The Return... so far as I know, there's absolutely no difference other than the packaging. If I didn't already have The Return, I'd get whatever is cheaper (which would be Kongsblod, I'd assume). You'll be pleasantly surprised by that album. It's got great atmosphere and Kongsblod is one of my favorite songs of theirs.

Alright I will probably just grab up Kongsblod then just cause of the price, even thought the original Return art just adds so much more to the atmosphere of the albumKerrick wrote:Nice. I'll look around but probably have to follow my wallet instead of my desire for "atmosphere"

Re: Recent Purchases (Christian)
Right on. The availability of TROTBD seems to fluctuate some. When I bought it, it was pretty difficult to get ahold of. Years ago, I found a copy on Tower Records of all places (remember them???) and accidentally ordered it to my parents' home instead of the town where I was attending college. My mom forwarded it to me and but never arrived. She felt really bad and ended up buying me another copy, but neither time was it particularly cheap... Since then though, I've seen it listed for a reasonable price here or there. Especially with Kongsblod out, there may not be as much of demand for it and you might be able to find a copy for a good price if you're patient.

I don't want to ask how much that Morgenroede cost you... That is quite the score though.
Enjoy that Nomad Son album! It's a good'un!

Neon Cross - Torn
Xalt - History
I had always shied away from these 2, as I have seen a lot of negativity about them. However, I finally took some time and listened to them on YouTube and I was surprised by how much I liked them. Enough so that I bought them.

I really dig both of those albums. I think people slagged on them so much because they were a departure from each bands previous work....and most people wouldn't embrace that.

Yeah, I've noticed over the years (ok, over the decades..lol) that metal fans don't take too well to change
