Got the new Sonata Arctica the other day. Oh my gosh it is SO CHEESY but I can't help but really enjoy it. While it's no "Silence" or "Winterheart's Guild," it's a very fun, upbeat, melodic, and enjoyable power metal album. And it's a HECK of a lot better than their previous album, "Stones Grow Her Name" which was pretty terrible IMO.

The new Wovenhand album, Refractory Obdurate. I've only been able to listen through it about twice, but it is really quite great (which is to be expected)! It continues to go in the heavier/rock direction as its predecessor The Laughing Stalk, though also seems to be include more of the gothic americana roots from where the band began. I highly recommend it!
