Wo some nice finds there. I've never heard of Fireworks. What kind of music is it? That East To West disc is pretty good as well.

Re: Recent Non-Metal Purchases
Fireworks is Marty McCall's first band from the 70s - Marty then went on to sing for First Call for several years. He also did backup vox with David Meece and BJ Thomas.
It's kind of what you'd expect from a 70s Pop Rock sort of sound - post folk rock. I was stoked to find this one cuz it's their 1st release.
(you can see all their albums here: http://www.guiltyforgiven.com/collection/F.html )

Re: Recent Non-Metal Purchases
Actually my favorite find in that bunch was the Riki Michele (previously with Adam Again, and once married to Gene Eugene) - that one was on my want list as was the Fireworks. The rest are just interesting albums to add to my collection. With the exception of Keith Green - I already have all his, but I grabbed this cuz it was only 49 cents ! I'll add it to my duplicates and hopefully someday find someone who wants to trade with me all my duplicates.

Re: Recent Non-Metal Purchases
Wow, you guys shop like I do. Pretty much, if it's a Christian release from the last 40-50 years, I buy it.

Re: Recent Non-Metal Purchases
^ you got it. If you ever get bored, you can take a look at my eclectic taste in music = http://www.guiltyforgiven.com/collection/numb.html
I grew up in a household of every style of music, from my mom's 50 and 60s to my brothers classic rock and top 40. So when I came to faith in '89 I began to gobble up every style of music that glorified our Father.
There's only a few styles that I don't care for - basically I like very little "Gospel" "Southern Gospel" "Bluegrass" and barber shop quartet stuff (though I have some of all of those in my collection - they're just not my thing).

Re: Recent Non-Metal Purchases
I buy most of them for posterity. It is one of my goals to own every Christian release ever produced (in every format). Don't know what I'll do at that point. Open a museum?

Leslie Phillips
Absolutely LOVE her. Her works pre-The Turning as well as post-The Turning (though I prefer the early works with the straightforward lyrics)

Lost this years ago and glad to get it back. Heard it for the first time in 30 years! I always loved this album, my older brother had it when we were kids.

Re: Recent Non-Metal Purchases
^ hey some of those old gospel albums can rake in serious bucks.
I've got one I've been trying to sell on ebay off and on that's still sealed from the 60s - I've seen it elsewhere (opened/used) for up to 50 bucks. So far just "watchers" - I think it has more of a novelty value than anything else, cuz it's rather silly. I've been SO tempted to open it and listen to it.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=231021626832
I'd love to just get 20 bucks for it to help recoup some of my other music buying debt. If it doesn't sell by the end of the year, I'm just gonna open it and listen to it - my curiosity is killing me !

Re: Recent Non-Metal Purchases
I just ordered 2 CDs for a female friend. Christafari and 'Imisi.
The Christafari CD is Reggae Worship: A Roots revival...
The 'Imisi CD is their first CD Visions Of The Father.
I hope and pray that these CDs will uplift her spirit and put a joyful song in her heart.

I've got everything by Christafari as well as "Visions of the Father" by Imisi. GREAT stuff !
If she likes reggae, there's a whole boatload of Christian albums out there. A lot of very good stuff. My fav of all time is Ben Okafor.
