James Hetfield Christian?

At 1:24:

I've heard him referred to as Christian before, but this is the most explixitly Christian thing I've heard him say... All I know for sure is him and God have a complicated history

I'm not saying one way or the other but lots of people say stuff like this. I hope he is but that's pretty generic.

Unfortunately that doesn’t mean he is an actual saved believer. Even nonbelievers read the Bible so they can be familiar with what it says. 

I hope Hetfield believes. But he’s being a bit secretive and only offers “hints”. Not a solid answer.

There is a very good chance that Dave Mustaine has talked with Hetfield in private about God. 

Since Mustaine is a Christian. Maybe God used him to preach to Het.

Agreed. I posted it to basically say that there’s little indication that he is a believer. But he seems somewhat open.

I'm not sure about that. He grew up Christian Scientist which is completely different from Christianity and worships a false God. It's still possible that it would've sown some kind of seed but I'm not sure.

It's still a branch of Christianity. There are thousands of denominations and branches of Christianity. One person claims all the other thousands of Christianities are false while their one is the truth and nothing but the whole truth. And that's without all the other thousands of religions that claim the same truth, added to the already, thousands of Christian denominations and branches all connected to the Christian tree.

It's a fallacy to say religions all claim the same truth. Buddhism is very different from Hinduism which is different from Mormonism etc. And Biblical Christianity is the only one that claims you can't work your way into heaven.

Semantics. I don't mean the same ideologies, theologies or texts... I mean the claim is the same in the form of their chosen religions. And there are thousands of them. You get the gist.

There quite literally is, not that I know them all of course. 

I just checked google to make sure my claim was true.

And yes they worship the same God as you say, as did James' parents.


There are more than 45,000 denominations globally. Followers of Jesus span the globe. But the global body of more than 2 billion Christians is separated into thousands of denominations. Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Baptist, Apostolic, Methodist — the list goes on.
