Ac dc are fantastic. Angus is a manic man! Who plays guitar like that never misses a note. Love Acdc they have no agenda or politcs or anything they just give you a good damn time everytime. When I'm feeling low I stick some acdc on and suddenly my mood changes to a life aint half bad mood! Also they are killer live. Or were at least.

I actually hated acdc for years. Then one day a friend came over with a free ticket to the ball breaker concert. I wasn't really interested but he didn't want to waste the ticket when someone else had bailed on him. lemme tell you, I aint been to a better concert and it completely blew my mind. Amazing. That's when I "got" It.

Airbourne > AC/DC
Somewhat shockingly; saw Airborne at a bar right here in Abilene. One of my biggest regrets was not getting a tour shirt. I still occasionally fruitlessly search for that on ebay.

I like them but I rarely give the copy band as better.

AC/DC might be decent if it weren’t for cat-in-a-blender vocals that make Axl Rose’s voice sound angelic in comparison

I get that. I can see how non metalheads view acdc and that's how I viewed them too once upon a time. TO me it was mash potato and gravy for prisoners music lolz, and also some of the fans came across as complete meatheads. Don't let that put you off their music though. BUt if you genuinely don't like the music, that's all good.

I love Get It, but it sounds just as much like classic Def Leppard as it does AC/DC to me.

It was a good mix of the two with even some Cinderella thrown in.

If you are looking for symphonic thrash you might want to go straight to the deep end and check out Apocalyptica.
They started as a Metallica cover band, playing only Metallica songs with only four cellos. They've done their own material too.

This is one of the better songs from their own compositions
(there are two versions, one without vocals and one redone with vocals)
(and note, this is not a Christian band)



No guitars, no drums except what you would have in a symphonic concert.

They did have actual drums later though, and some songs were recorded with Dave Lombardo from Slayer on drums.

This makes me think of the self titled King's X record. In particular, "What I Know About Love".
The first thing I thought back in the day when Doug's bass line started was "this is HEAVY"...

It kind of colored my view of the whole record because I always think of it as being heavy...

I thought of another song that I've always considreed to be heavy ...

Mid-period Deliverance—let’s say Stay of Execution through either Camelot or Assimilation—is every bit as good as early Deliverance, and is better than What a Joke.

Stay is excellent but they aren't up to that quality after. Weapons and Stay are their best.

Weapons and Stay are their best.
S/t and other mid-period are next.
What a Joke and the most recent couple are the weakest.
All Deliverance is good.

ST through Stay are all great.

What a Joke has a high peak. As high as any D.

The thrashers on WaJ are pretty paint-by-numbers and lack the melodic hook of those on the first two. 

The rhythm work (both guitar and drums) on WaJ is peak, though.

The beginning era is their best. Stay is great, but Learn is the best from the mid-era, with River and Camelot being the bottom 2. The new four are actually very good imo. I'll rank the albums along with the Tourniquet and Metallica albums for reference
