Neither can match prime Maiden, though.

Wait do you like Stryper...Raegoul wrote:Whitecross is good but their lyrics - albeit bold and clear - are borderline cringy most of the times, using very obvious/simple rhymes.
For me a lot of Christian metal bands lyrics are. And I ignore them if I like the music. There are some Christian bands with good lyrics too.
When it comes to Whitecross I completely ignore the lyrics and just like the music. Rex is a huge part of why I like Whitecross. I actually like him more than Van Halen.

Stryper can be cheesy but I rate the cheese higher than the Whitecross cheese. Kinda like Swiss cheese compared to American cheese (if you can call those industrial orange fat blocks cheese, that is).Dustofyears wrote:Wait do you like Stryper...Raegoul wrote:Whitecross is good but their lyrics - albeit bold and clear - are borderline cringy most of the times, using very obvious/simple rhymes.

I don't own not one Bride album. I'm considering getting some of the releases from 1986-1995. After the mid 90s don't like their music very much.
Ulf Christianson (Jerusalem), Bob Hartman (Petra) and Mick Mars (Motley Crue) are underrated guitar players. I think they hold back on the albums to some degree. With Petra and Jerusalem it seems to be the message and the presentation that's more important than guitar wankery. With Mick Motley Crue is mostly a sleaze party band.

As much as I love Deliverance, their first three albums definitely have some cheese in themDustofyears wrote:Wait do you like Stryper...Raegoul wrote:Whitecross is good but their lyrics - albeit bold and clear - are borderline cringy most of the times, using very obvious/simple rhymes.

Bob Hartman for sure. great song writer and underrated guitarist.Soldier777 wrote:All Stand Together is my least favorite Bloodgood album where it has thin prodiction. It should be remixed or rerecorded with thicker production.

Yeah the early ones do for sure. Even jimmy admits that and sees it as a young man writing with fervent overly zealous hand. His lyrics definitely got better as time marched on in my opinion anyway.StevenCressler wrote:As much as I love Deliverance, their first three albums definitely have some cheese in themDustofyears wrote:Wait do you like Stryper...Raegoul wrote:Whitecross is good but their lyrics - albeit bold and clear - are borderline cringy most of the times, using very obvious/simple rhymes.

One of the reasons I live Assimilation so much is how poetic the lyrics are.Dustofyears wrote:Yeah the early ones do for sure.
