Went there several years ago. Now I'm trying to get a firmer grasp on it, in my case learning more about things I'm convinced about makes me less annoying about it and more charitable towards people who don't share my views.Black Rider wrote:Going postmil?

Like the movie, but the book is better. I’ve almost finished it.

That is a masterfully-written book. It's been a while since I read it, but I remember being very impressed with how Stoker tells one unified story through various diaries, journals, letters, etc.

Nice. Those two authors made a ton of other books together after Relic. They're not exactly sequels (though there is one direct sequel I believe...) but have the same characters and continue their story arcs and whatnot. I read quite a few of them back in the day and enjoyed them, though Relic is probably the best. They're mindless fun but all sorta similar in structure - just with different settings and antagonists - and thus get a little same-y after a while.

As a premil I wasn’t convinced by most of his exegesis, but I thought it was a good book and I did appreciate his discussion of Romans 11.CrimsonWarrior wrote:I just finished reading Kim Riddlebarger's A Case for Amillennialism. Very thorough and well-written. He very effectively refutes both historic and dispensational premillennialism, but I wish he had spent a bit more time speaking about postmillennialism. So I am still a bit torn between a- and post-. My only real complaint about the book is the use of the NIV.

What translation are you using and do you like it? When I read the Divine Comedy it was so hard to understand what he was saying that I couldn't enjoy what he was saying.

It seems understandable enough. He has a lot of notes that are helpful when it comes to all of the historical names and events that are referenced, but there are times when I disagree with his interpretation of some of the poetic turns of phrase (not the translation itself, but the more "literal" meaning of the phrase).
