Kerrick's Gettin' Hitched :D

On Saturday, February 13th, at roughly 5:30pm, I asked Veronika to marry me. And she said 'yes'!!! 
I proposed at one of our favorite spots which we dubbed "Veronika's Beach." It was also at the same location that I had first asked her to date me almost a year ago.
It was an absolutely beautiful day with a gorgeous sunset in a place that is very sentimental for both of us.
It's a super exciting time for both of us, though it's also going to a difficult one. As you may know, she's not a US citizen and therefore the paperwork process is full of bureaucracy, waiting, frustration, and more waiting. Also, she flies back to Barcelona (where the school is that she's getting her PhD at) this Wednesday and it'll be a few months before we see each other again. (The plan is for me to live out that way for a few months.) So your prayers are greatly appreciated!
We haven't posted on Facebook about it so for those of you who are my "friends" (and I use that term VERY loosely...
), please hold off on posting anything about this there until we've made the announcement. 
But I wanted to let y'all know now.

Congratulations. So happy for you, and I can't wait till you have us all at the wedding via Skype. 
Sometimes the interview process can be a little nerve racking. Some close friends of mine had to go through an interrogation, where the questioner was acting like they got married just so she could become a citizen. But she was here illegally, so that might have clouded things a bit.
Prayers will be lifted up.

congratulations and those pics are awesome
I proposed to my wife on 12/21/12 at a place she never been but being a history buff (shes got a masters in american history) I took her to this state park where theres an old mansion on the grounds I couldnt finish as she said yes , she knew i was going to just didnt know when as she picked out the engagement ring

Thank you sir! It's so easy to get caught up in ourselves that we forget to include God but any time that happens, we're reminded that we can't do it on our own and just why it's so important to keep God at the center always. He is good.

Thank you for your prayers. It's going to be a wild process for sure, but I'm confident it'll go alright. As for a Skype wedding... haha we've become so familiar with Skype that it wouldn't be too out of place for us hahahaha!

Thank you! I think from being with me already, she's learned to just accept the metal. Actually, there's a fair bit she likes. She prefers traditional doom and post rock mostly. She likes Place Of Skulls, Faith, and the like but also some stuff like Kauan's later material which I found surprising! In time, I hope to fully convert her over...

I passed the 20 year mark in early December......a shared life with "the one" is a truly amazing gift from God. I pray you will have many wonderful and happy years with her, just as I have had with MY wife!

Well we got our NOA1 (notice of action 1 - i.e. the receipt that the government received our application and will be processing it soonish). So that is good news! That came in a couple weeks ago.
The other exciting news is that while Veronika is working on her PhD in Barcelona... I will be coming out to visit her FOR THREE MONTHS!!! My boss is super supportive (!!!) and I'll be working remotely part-time! Awesome! We found a place for me to stay that is literally a ten minute walk from where Veronika is staying so it's super convenient. Plus it's on the fourth story with no elevator so I'll get a good workout every day haha! I leave April 11th and won't return til July!
