And I assume that the main problem isn't just the price per unit but the sum of it. Soundmass isn't Warner Music or Sony BMG. Judged by the quote a double vinyl release would cost $4.300 (+shipping) - that's a HUGE amount of money for such a small label. And it's a risky business.

On the other hand I fully understand that it's a real bummer to see that a song on an album got removed just for economic reasons.
In all honesty: Even if I wouldn't have the original NB pressing (with the extra 7" - which also not a perfect solution IMO) I wouldn't be very eager to buy a reissue with a missing song.

You can't move 500 units of a Christian metal album anymore. Need to stick with 300, and even that is going to be tough to sell out. Cutting out one song is going to make it next to impossible to sell 100-200. I have helped people do vinyl re-issues lately. Its a tough business and people need to stop making it even tougher by doing things like this.

You also must have added some other options beyond the basics. When I do the calculator with those stats, it comes out to:

single LP, red vinyl, standard packet jacket, 500 pcs - $5.15 per unit
double LP, red vinyl, dual packet gatefold jacket, 500 pcs - $9.77 per unit

You are right, my prices were wrong. I made a calculation for 300 pieces. Not sure why I wrote "500 pcs"...
500 pieces would reduce the per unit price significantly. But the total costs would be $5000 + shipping for about 440lbs of freight.
That's a HUGE investment for a small label like Soundmass.

And if the idea of releasing a seperate EP with the missing songs from Scrolls and the planned PMA release (+more) will be realized everything will be fine IMO.
