Re: Fave Batman Movie
I chose the Dark Night. Mainly because of Heath Ledger's job in this was great. The story line also was good and didn't seem like a set up for the next movie.
I recently saw the first one and 'Returns' The first would be my second choice, it was pretty good as well.

I went with TDKR just because it ended on a great note. With the movies as they were, it seemed impossible to close it on a high note, then Bruce was in France and Alfred saw him and then Robin saw a secret entrance open up.
That being said, Heath Ledger was absolutely incredible as the Joker.

I agree about Ledger
but I liked Nicholson's performance better
I like all of them in a way
(especially B & R bc of the Bat nipples )
My second choice would be Batman Begins just because Ra's Al Ghul is a awesome villian all around and Neeson did a awesome job as him
My 3rd choice would be The Dark Knight

Now if were talking Batman's actors,
the only one I didn't like was Clooney but I think part of it was the director of course
I enjoyed Bale
but my fave would either be Keaton or Kilmer

Re: Fave Batman Movie
I have to confess that I have yet to see the newer movies, but of the ones I have seen I have to go with the Keaton/Nicholson/Basinger Batman. Returns was just too weird and Tim Burton-y for my taste, although I loved Michelle Pfieffer as Catwoman. I have no recollection of Forever other than thinking I didn't care for Val Kilmer as Batman. Batman and Robin was too campy, although the "Holy rusted metal" line was funny. You can never be sure how serious Clooney is in his interviews, but I heard him say once that he played Batman gay in that one.

I loved The Dark Night. All the ingredients of a great mob movie that just happened to have Batman in it were there. Great story and superb acting.
My next ones would be the two Keaton films. Again, great stories with great acting.
The Kilmer one was cool as well. Jim Carrey stole the show on that one as The Riddler. The Clooney movie--ummm........check please!
The last of the Nolan films was horrid. Catwoman was a whiny brat--not a criminal mastermind. She was just not sultry enough to be believable. Also, bringing Robin in as Batman was getting out was lame. Even Nolan said he only added that due to the pressure from fans and the studio. He never wanted Robin in it at all. The ending just seemed rushed to tidy things up to kill that series.

Re: Fave Batman Movie
The first Batman movie for me. It was the perfect balance - dark but still fun. The Nolan ones are good too (The Dark Knight was probably the best) but don't quite top it. None of the others ever quite captured the magic of it.
I feel the same way. Nothing against Burton's style, I just don't like that much of it in a Batman film.

The first Batman with Keaton and Nicholson.
Jack Nicholson is an all time great in the acting field. He was stupendous in that role.

I went with the first one too. This might be my age and sentimental reasons though. The Christopher Nolan trilogy were better done but wa-ay to dark and mature for a movie based on comic books. Verbum lux nailed it with the first one: "dark but still fun."

I liked them all, but I think The Dark Knight is my favorite. The only negative for me was the Batmobile. If Bale could have had Keaton's ride, it would have been perfect.

I'll probably get stoned or shunned for this one... but you're not missing much. I'd describe them as:
Batman Begins - watched it the first time, thought it was decent. Watched it again and couldn't believe how terrible it was.
The Dark Knight - definitely the best of the bunch. Way too long though. Worth watching but doesn't deserve the hype.
The Dark Knight Rises - absolutely wretched. Takes itself WAY too seriously for how silly it really is. Overall a complete waste.

Re: Fave Batman Movie
Kerrick, I agree with you.
The Bale Batman trilogy is worth watching one time.
No more than that though
The Keaton / Nicholson Batman has staying power...worth repeated views
