Re: Best Mad Max movie?
Wow 1 vote for each.
I voted The Road Warrior, I have not seen the new one yet, but out of the original 3 to me it is the best film and really capitalized on the original.
Same with The Terminator, T2 really capitalized on the success of the original.
It was tough for me between 1 and 2 but I had to make a decision

The Road Warrior, not a lot of needless talk from our protagonist, just getting down to business. The first one wasn't bad, but the voice overdubs detracted substantially from my enjoyment of the film. Beyond Thunderdome was rather decent as well but a little too much humor in it for my tastes (almost as if they were mocking the genre).
Haven't seen the new one yet, but holding out hope it will be a worthy addition to the franchise.

Re: Best Mad Max movie?
After seeing the new Mad Max in theater twice (unprecedented for me) and considering it one of my two favorite action movies ever, I bought the original three.
So far I've only watched the first one, and I gotta say...that was disappointing. I fear that Fury Road has ruined me.
I'll probably watch the other two soon, but I won't vote until then.

^That's too bad you weren't able to see the original trilogy first. They're quite different from the new one...
I voted The Road Warrior. It's an absolute classic that was so groundbreaking. I'd describe them all this way:
Mad Max: Great flick. Super low-budget but very enjoyable. I love the odd combining of dark/heavy material with the zaniness and humor
The Road Warrior: As I said, a classic and groundbreaking. Far more mature than the first, larger scale, creative, gritty, and overall just very well done.
Beyond Thunderdome: Absolutely horrendous. The Thunderdome scenes were well done and saved the movie from being a complete failure, but otherwise it's just bad. Instead of continuing in the gritty direction TRR began, it went for more of a family-friendly, light-hearted, and comedic approach that just fell flat IMO.
Fury Road: Hard to compare with the first three due to a much bigger budget and all, but it's a very good movie. Nothing groundbreaking or new here, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable movie.

Re: Best Mad Max movie?
Well I watched Beyond Thunderdome for the first time last night.
Gotta say the first 45 min are good and then the last hour was boring, and un inspired with the "Lost Boys" and then Aunty just letting Max go at the end, what a nice villain!
I watched the first two for a second time today because man are they goooood!
They are both some of favorite movies ever, for sure!

I voted "Beyond Thunderdome". Though I've not seen any of these films in a very long time. I've not watched the new one yet either. I heard it wasn't that good is why.

My dad went and saw it, he liked it, but not as much as the first 2RavenWolf wrote:I voted "Beyond Thunderdome". Though I've not seen any of these films in a very long time. I've not watched the new one yet either. I heard it wasn't that good is why.
He said it had unnecessary gross moments, the story was very thin, but the action was some of the best ever

I'll probably check it out eventually.

Re: Best Mad Max movie?
I've re-watched them all last year before and after seeing the blockbuster movie.
I'm tickled that the new movie received the most oscars of all the movies of 2015.

I enjoyed the most recent one the most.
All their movies are so different from anything out there.
