WHITE LIGHTER - new Mark Salomon band (Stavesacre, Crucified) (for fans of Ozzy!)

Listening to Mark Salomon's podcast lately, I learned of his new band White Lighter with Andy Prickett of the Prayer Chain on guitars.  It's kind of mellow hard rock with a slight nod to Ozzy in the vocals at times.  Should appeal to fans of Stavesacre's Speakeasy album.  Really solid music that I think would appeal to a lot of people here.

I have it and it's amazing. It's not all out hard rock but more of a slow burn kind of thing. Really, really good lyrics.

I am liking what I hear of the clips!  It is a bit different than everything else coming out these days.

I have it as well & love it.  Swan is my fave & it definitely has an Ozzy vibe on the vox.  I really hope they make more music.

Just purchased the download.  IMO, Mark's voice sounds like Sabbath-era Ozzy, not solo Ozzy.  Those strange keys in "Omen" were perfect counterpoint to the guitars too. 

Yes! Omens is probably my favorite song as of now. Heavy is good too.

Just listened to all the tracks....pretty good actually...

And Yes Mark definitely sounds like Ozzy on some tracks - especially Swan which is my favourite at present...
(Who would have ever though back in the 'the Crucified' days that Mark would ever sound like Ozzy!?)

Honestly, anything I've heard Mark Solomon be a part of has been great. Even the one song he did guest vocals for that XL & DBD album... the rest of the album was eh....

I have everything he's been a part of except a few guest spots and the Native Son album, which is hard to find.

I thought Steve dial was on guitar?

He was on bass, Andy Prickett (of Prayer Chain) on guitar and on drums was Trey Many and Andy Brotherton depending on the track.

The Black Vinyl podcast had him on a few weeks ago, and Billy Power had a three part interview on his Urban Acheiver podcast...

Vinyl or digital?

I got the digital because I don't have a record player (or the money to invest in one as well as replaing all my CD's...). Mark said he'll never do a CD release again.

I hear ya. Lots of bands seem to go this route and I don't get it. I guess I just want a CD...

Vinyl is the only music format that's growing.  I should know, I have a vinyl record shop in my bookstore and business is booming!  People want to hold their music and for it to feel meaningful.

Yep, and for some reason CDs don't do that for some folks.

I remember getting new cassettes and smelling the ink on the insert and listening to it the first time.

Mark is one of those guys, for me, who can release something out of the style I listen to and I still like it. I'm definitely getting this.
