Re: Any The Choir fans?
I like it, don't know if it's better but it's good.

Re: Any The Choir fans?
I got into The Choir circa 1988 when I first heard the Chase the Kangaroo album. Saw 'em live in 1989. Cool band.

Last minute post:
They're crowdfunding a new album. For those of you nervous about crowdfunding, The Choir has delivered more-or-less on time for every one of their campaigns I've taken part in.

Re: Any The Choir fans?
I never really thought much of this band in the 90's except for a few songs.
However I just checked out some of their 2018 album "Bloodshot" and their "reimagined" remakes (?) with Leigh Nash, and some of the material is really impressive. Some of it is stunning.
I hear they have also released some interesting cover tunes. Not sure if they still consider themselves Christians /Christians in a band / a Christian band - does anyone know?

As far as I know, they still consider themselves a Christian band, although some of Steve’s views of late bother me (e.g. check out the lyrics to “It Should Have Been Obvious” from Burning Like the Midnight Sun).
LOVE The Choir! I have most of their albums and don’t think they have any bad releases, especially from Chase the Kangaroo on. Chase the Kangaroo is probably my favorite and the one that made me a fan but Circle Slide, Burning Like the Midnight Sun, The Loudest Sound Ever Heard, and Shadow Weaver are right up there. Wide-Eyed Wonder, Speckled Bird, Free-Flying Soul, and Bloodshot aren’t far behind, either.
Yeah, I’m a fan.

Re: Any The Choir fans?
Definitely a Christian band, although they're more poetic and with a relatively low JPM.
I have all of the studio and live albums and enjoy them all. The only one I can't get into is Free Flying Soul and even that is not bad, just lacking compared to the others. Speckled Bird is my personal favorite. Chase the Kangaroo, Circle Slide, and Burning Like the Midnight Sun are my "close behind" list. Shadow Weaver has my second favorite song by them (What You Think I Am).

Love that song. My wife got me this t-shirt with the lyrics on it:

Found this on You Tube. It's really good quality, I believe it is from an official DVD:

Also a proud Kickstarter supporter. Derri said the new one's vinyl iteration should start shipping to them any time now, and once that happens, we should be getting our rewards thereafter.

Re: Any The Choir fans?
What do people think of "Deep Cuts" so far? It just got released on Spotify and You Tube today.
It's more upbeat than "Bloodshot," although "Bloodshot" had some gorgeous song-writing.
I'm still digesting this new one so don't have a fully formed reaction yet. This is an early favorite song so far:

Love it! Had a dream of The Choir today. It was so cool, hanging out with Derri and Indie Hindie.

Re: Any The Choir fans?
Not technically a The Choir album, but At the Foot of the Cross has a Kickstarter going now.

I'm excited to get this since I missed it the first time. I even recently looked for it on eBay and Amazon and didn't see it.
