Any Fans of U2?

Since I was a kid I remember loving U2! I got into them after I was into Metal, but they were an 'exception' for me! I loved their integrity and their music! Bono and 2 other members are also Christians.

Any other fans here? What are your favorite albums? Songs? Moments? Let's discuss this legendary Pop Rock band!!!

I like Zooropa the best and it is the only album I now own of theirs. I used to have all of their albums but stopped listening so sold them off to a friend of a friend.

Now I only listen to Coldplay.

This is a band Ive always wanted to be a hardcore fan of, but most of the music does nothing for me though I do have some likes and they are....

I like U2 and Coldplay, I am not ashamed

I remember really liking the song Vertigo, but couldn't get into much else.

Like the early stuff, especially a song called "Bad". Love the early stuff but ironically I own none of it.

I love U2, however I think their latest album was a weak album. My favorites are Achtung Baby, Zooropa and Joshua Tree

I like the older stuff the best: Boy, War, October, The Joshua Tree.

I love U2!!!  Have everything and then some.....my least favorite album is October followed by No Line On The Horizen.  No Line has some great songs, I just dont really enjoy it as an album overall.  Songs Of Innocence I love - it took some time to get used to it, but I think it ranks pretty high now. The lead single, ' The Miracle Of Joey Ramone' is a pretty weak song, but I love the bonus songs on the special edition - 'Crystal Ballroom' and 'Lucifer's Hands'. My top 5 are Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum, Achtung Baby, All That You Cant Leave Behind. and Songs Of Innocence.

You just described exactly how I feel about Pink Floyd. I love a few of their songs (Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here, etc), but overall they do nothing for me.

I agree tho with No Line, it had some great individual songs, but the sum was less than the parts....

Have you noticed that they release albums in groups of 3 as far as the sound of the album goes?

I still have not picked up "Songs of Innocence" yet. I was so disappointed in "No Line on the Horizon", I didn't rush out to buy the follow-up. I will eventually pick it up just to fill out the collection. Do you like that one pretty well?


Never realized the '3' thing. But you got a point there! Cool!

I like SoI alot better than No Line. It took a bit to grow on me and I recommend the special edition for the bonus tracks, but it is easily in their top 5 or 6 albums...

I liked them up to and including All That You Cant Leave Behind, but after that they kind of lost me. That auto-uploading their album onto everyone's itunes account stunt was neat, but it backfired on them big time.

They granted Itunes exclusive rights to distribute the album for 30 days.  Itunes decided to mark it as purchased in everyone's account. The people who had their settings set to auto download all new purchases were the ones who got angry but in the end it was just a stupid situation with people getting upset about something they got for free.  When Apple released the number on the album, it had 26 million downloads.  Even if were to be overly generous and say that only 10% of those people actually wanted the download, that means that 2,600,000 people who wanted the album.  When most big albums debut in the 300,000 to 500,000 range, that is very impressive.  Also, it means more (and younger) fans, more press, more ticket sales, more merch sales, and more sales of previous albums.  I think U2 scored pretty big with releasing the album that way...

I like songs here and there but could never get into them
