I have often wondered the same thing many times. I would think the greatest thrill for an artist would be for people to ENJOY his work.
And if the artist is a Believer he should want as many people as possible to hear his work in order to share the Message.

In all reality, it's his choice though. Maybe he's not happy with how it sounds now or is just something he wants left behind. Maybe he doesn't want to confuse his current country fan base with his old stuff.

As I mentioned before, in the art world, if you buy a limited print of a piece of art, you are buying something that is not supposed to be printed again. That is why you are buying it. It makes the value of your print valuable. If the artist goes and reprints it, it knocks down the value of what you own, and also makes the artist untrustworthy.
In the music world, I've never really heard of this happening, but it could be his reasoning.

I understand that and it makes sense, but we are talking about music. The value is in the plastic and paper, not in the exclusivity of the music.deathisgain wrote:As I mentioned before, in the art world, if you buy a limited print of a piece of art, you are buying something that is not supposed to be printed again. I have the album too, and whilst Run Like The Devil is a superb song, the rest of the album doesn't give me a lot of interest.
Re: Steven Patrick - Red Reign
I thought Steven Patrick was disgusted with the whole Christian music industry when he walked away.
Interesting that he walked all the way to a completely different genre of country music.
I would also love to see his solo material released one day as an anthology to include his rocking side project Bang La Desh.

I feel the same way. Run like the Devil is a great song and would have been right at home on any Holy Soldier album.Fundy wrote:I have the album too, and whilst Run Like The Devil is a superb song, the rest of the album doesn't give me a lot of interest.

When it was released I read that it WAS supposed to be the 10th song from Last Train.

I can believe that. Always thought there was a song missing from that nine track album.eatbugs wrote:StarFire wrote:I feel the same way. I have always thought that the album has two sides. Half of it is just excellent, Run like the devil, Catfish, Take a little time, So long, say goodbye and Fire.
The rest of the album is.. well.. not so good. :-D

Seems like I read this in HM Magazine. Does anyone still have the issues from that time period (I'm pretty sure it was during the "HM" years, post "Heaven's Metal")? I saw the add and bought the cassette (oops), but now I feel lucky to have even that.

This seems like the most logic reason for Steven Patrick not giving permission to re-issue this. Bitterness...oldschooldoom wrote:I thought Steven Patrick was disgusted with the whole Christian music industry when he walked away.

This is not fair, anyway. But it does make sense!

That song, "Mississippi Wine", is awful. Musically, it lacks any originality. Lyrically, it's...well...not Christian, and I'll leave it at that.

Agreed. I like good country music ... the operative word being "good", which his isn't. Normally the good country music is done by people whose first language is country. If you have to fake the drawl in order to sing country then country you ain't, and I've never detected even the hint of a drawl in any of Steven's HS work. Nor do I recall hearing a drawl when I saw HS live during the S/T tour.
