Re: Steven Patrick's last song
WHOA, I was just asking my friend Rob the other night if he knew what Steven Patrick was up to these days.
Rob is friends with many band members from the classic period of the Christian metal industry and even he had no idea.
So many questions...
How do we know this is his last performance?
What is going to be doing next?
Did country music not work out for him?
Also....is there a way to get a map of the guitar chords for this song? Anyone know?

Re: Steven Patrick's last song
To no one in particular: speaking of tab, I once had the tab for dead end drive I think it was. It was from extremely loud guitar book tabs and had Whitecross, bride, Holy soldier, vengeance rising and more. WOw, that is going back in time.
Anyway, this song is great. the back harmonies always reminded me of the lost boys soundtrack (cry little sister)

Re: Steven Patrick's last song
I am a huge Holy Soldier fan, and their first two records are all time favorites of mine, and it is mainly because of Steven's voice
But........... I have to admit, it does not sound great here. It sounds like it was overly fixed in the studio and makes it sound pretty feminine if Im being honest. If I didn't see the video with it, I do not think I would even know it was him singing.
Either way apart from that I am very curious as to what all of this means, being his "last performance" or what actually happened with his attempt at Country.....

Re: Steven Patrick's last song
Why would someone really want to advertise something as their last song? All of us now roll our eyes when Bride/Dale Thompson is going to retire. How many times has KISS started to call it quits just to do a new album and tour again? Even the Crue got enough money waved under their noses to blow up their cessation of touring agreement and have come out of retirement.
When an artist makes a big deal out of something being their "last" whatever, it typically isn't.

LOL, I was thinking "pretty feminine" from the moment Steven came into the vid. Barely recognizable to me.Hardcore Christian wrote:I am a huge Holy Soldier fan, and their first two records are all time favorites of mine, and it is mainly because of Steven's voice

My how the mighty have fallen. For the longest time Steven was my #1 voice in Christian hard rock/metal.
Such passion in every note. I could not understand how he sang without tears in his eyes. I loved everything:
Holy Soldier, Victory and Bang 'La Desh. I kinda liked his solo country stuff only because of his voice and persona.
What next Steve, opera? LOL, not! I know you are just trying to pay bills, but c'mon! His recent Facebook comments are so cryptic to the point we thought he was ending his life. Mr Attention Getter.

Re: Steven Patrick's last song
below is what he posted on FB about this video and his final performance.
I watched the video and scratched my head a bit. Is it me, or is he going a bit transgender? There appears to be a bit more chest than a man his size would have. I hesitated to post this, but was hoping someone on here may be a bit more information on Steve and his current state.
If this goes against any rules of the forum please feel free to remove it.
Here is the link to tomorrow nights concert in Argentina…My final performance… Starts at 6 PM central time and goes to 7:30 PM… I come on last at the very end…See you there... and rock on!

This doesn't even sound like the same guy. I know age can affect the voice, but this doesn't even sound vaguely familiar.
As for the transgender guess, rtz, I surely hope not.

Re: Steven Patrick's last song
I thought it was a woman, both vocally and in look, the first time I watched. I thought I missed something and he was a guest vocalist in the song somewhere later. Knowing nothing about the man, I'll leave it there. Not the biggest fan anyway but I hope he is okay.

Re: Steven Patrick's last song
Steve's live vocals (as far as I know from the few holy soldier live cuts and shows that exist) have never been as good as what you hear on the studio albums, and at times, sound like some one else. But he did, and they did, give us two perfect melodic hard rock albums! Thanks Holy Soldier.
As for the transgender thing, and I could be reading into things here, but take a listen to Virtue and vice... It sounds like an inward struggle of the mind, 'I can't deny my other side, my secret identity.' 'I wish that I could show you but you'd probably run from me...' and so on... The whole song is about a fight and struggle inside one's mind, and being afraid to show that side to anyone because they believe you are something else. 'I am just a man Encaged in who I'm supposed to be...'
Anyway, for what it's worth I don't give a---- I like the music, it rocks!

But that could also simply be referring to any sin that we wanted to keep hidden as a Christian. We need to tread lightly here and give him a fair shakedown. While the original post about his lifestyle could be dead on, we all could be looking for breadcrumbs where there are none.

Re: Steven Patrick's last song
My two cents:
- Definetely a transgender;
- Virtue and Vice is abou the battle of the flesh...can be or could be about anything...And we all live it in some way, I guess. From hidden sexuality to porn addiction, or whatever.

My thoughts:
If he's a brother, we should pray for him.
If he's not a brother, we should pray for him.
Anything else is between him and God.

He is a Brother... Or a Sister, maybe...
Sorry for the joke...
I respect your actions and prayers for him, Constantine.
However, I got to be honest, I will not pray for him.
I have much more serious topics to pray about, I am not going to waste my time for someone who has possibly CHOSEN TO be in a different gender. Or what else choice should it be...
That's my faith, I do not pray to God to change people`s choice.

Several days ago I deleted my comment in this thread because I felt it was wrong
I have to say, many comments in here go beyond what should be acceptable in a Christian forum.
We should not be gossiping or hypothesizing about his personal life. Nor making comments like "he's always been a bit limp at the wrist".
This thread is embarrassing

Re: Steven Patrick's last song
I saw a feed on facebook from Steven Patrick regarding an interview he will be doing at a local rodio station. He was singing Virture and Vice for a few seconds. Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/steven.patrick.3958/videos/1283680875421039.
If anyone has that station it would be cool to post the interview link here so we all can hear it. I'll try to hold judgement or an opinion on Steven. I don't know what he's been up to lately ansd haven't followed him much since he left Holy Soldier and the appearance he made on the Encore live album. Whether Steven has left the faith like a few other former Christian rockers like Roger Martinez, who knows. There has been pics of him with a cigarette but many believers smoke. It still would be cool if Holy Soldier get together and release an EP or a full album similar to their first 2 but that will likely never happen.
Virture and Vice, Petra's Jekyll and Hyde, Whitehearts Dr. Jekyll Mr Christian is about the battle of our 2 sides, the good side and the old man. It's like what Paul wrote, I do the things I don't want to do and I don't do the things I should do. I feel like that every day several times.

If you read the FB post and follow the link, anyone can listen to the show.
It literally says:
This Sunday, August 22nd at 7:00 pm. CST, live on the air with Stevie B. You can also listen online at www.kouj.org
Almost any station is accessible to everyone these days either via app or website.

If someone has become a transgender and it is quite famous, jokes and comments about it is more than expected...
Why does everything has to be so serious?

There you go again making accusations without any evidence or acknowledgment from anyone who actually knows.
You've tried and convicted this man of being transgender without any proof.
