LATTER REIGN - Christian hair metal from the 80's/90's
Anyone ever heard of this band? in 2022 Roxx will be releasing their one album from 1991.
Also, is it too early to post Top 10 lists for 2021? Anyone have one ready to go?

Yikes. Love the style, but that production is ROUGH.

I agree, this was no slick 80's production by any means.

I wonder what the original sound source was.

Frankly, that’s so rough I’m fairly surprised that Roxx is reissuing it.

I had a similar thought.

Ditto!
It sounds like it A) needed some cleaning to remove the harshness of the cymbals. It also sounds like the bass/bass drum were punched up too much making everything else sound weaker. Hopefully, this won't be as noticeable as it is in this video.
I may tinker with it and see if I can improve the overall listening experience for myself.
On a bright note, it sounds somewhat like Dokken.

I went ahead and ordered this early this morning. Here's hoping!
I do know that this band had more releases so there are more forthcoming if this sells well. I want to help these lost gems find the light of day, so I am supporting this.

Their first CD was almost unlistenable. It sounded like it came from a really bad 128 kbps MP3 taken from an old worn out cassette. It reminded me of some of the Strike First releases that used to be sold by Retrospect Records (not to be confused with Retroactive Records).
The new one was definitely a demo recording, but it does sound like some of the instruments were beefed up a bit. This is quite enjoyable and reminds me of Love Life, Siloam, E'Nuff Z'Nuff, and Trixter.

From the description it sounds like only pieces of some songs were done. In my mind it sounds like the "album' is just a collection of demos and reworked tracks, not cohesive in sound or quality.
Two questions, is the audio quality of the rest of the new album as good as the single posted here? Does it actually sound like an album or just a compilation of ideas at various stages of development?

More of the latter, but still enjoyable. The band is releasing stuff first that never saw the light of day before they release new songs/new albums.

Quite honestly, I found the first cd hard to listen to due to production…but I’m enjoying this new cd(II)…I really like this sound and this band does it well.
