I tried to watch some of this last year and couldn't make it through - I get that same witchy feeling I get when I watched the original.  There's definitely something alchemical going on with these two films.  Recently, I heard Alex Jones talk about his conversations with Vivian Kubrick and she said that her father (Stanley) was a 'remote viewer' aka psychic for lack of a better term.  Thus, the director had a connection to the original story in that he was "shining" in the likes of Danny and Halloran.

Kleks Academy (2023)

A children's fantasy based on the 1984 classic film which was based on the 1946 book.
But this version is too scary for children.
Filmed in Poland, Bulgaria and Norway. 
Language is in Polish, I would not have watched without the English subtitles.

Yuck. How was it?

It was very good. Non-partisan. No preachiness. Just the horrors of war and the sad state that America has fallen into. A cautionary tale of what happens to a president who threatens his own countrymen.
