I always found this interesting, what are some examples of thrash bands doing songs that have more of a doom metal sound? Some examples would be:

Metallica-The Thing That Should Not Be

Slayer-Dead Skin Mask

Anthrax-Black Lodge (more of a ballad, but it does have some Doom elements)

Any other good ones out there?

Adorned Graves has plenty of examples of this. Psalm 88, Beyond the Silence, Lord of the Stone are all pure doom, others such as Gorge of Liwija and On a White Pale Hill combine both into a single song

These are more of ballads but anyway:


(this one picks up pace quite a bit though)


(this is slow for the whole song)






And of course Tourniquet's Sola Christus and The Skeezix Dilemma go heavy for the doom style, even though they have faster parts in them.

We had a doom song called "Black Day of Execution" and doom section in "Realm of Insufferable Burning".  We have a new doom song called "Decalogue" that we've just written.

First song that came to mind in this topic was Overkill "Skullcrusher".
