Christian Thrash bands with that Bay Area sound and style?
Need some help to put together a quick list of Christian thrash bands with that old-school Bay Area style (Metallica, Exodus, Forbidden, Vio-Lence, Testament, Slayer, Megadeth, Heathen, etc.).
I did not get much sleep so my brain is lazy today. Here is what I have so far:
- Deliverance (1st few albums)
- Detritus (1st 2 albums)
- Ritual Servant
- Temple of Blood
- Reborn
- Hating Evil
- Sacrament
- Living Sacrifice (1st album)
- Join The Dead
- Immortal
- Meliah Rage - Masquerade album
- Disaffection
Sort of / Some Of Their Material:
- Valor (sort of...more speed metal)
- Eternal Decision
- Lordchain
- Grave Forsaken
- Oil
- Arnion
- Adorned Graves
- Boarders
- Angel of Sodom
- Ultimatum
- Theocracy
I'm sure there is plenty that I'm missing.

Psycho Surgery by Tourniquet is pretty similar to late 80’s era Exodus. Guy Ritter had that same vocal approach (especially on “A Dog’s Breakfast”) and the music is very tight and thrashy.

Maybe some Ultimatum songs have a bit of Bay Area influence. But overall, the intensity isn’t there. They have a lot of traditional metal like Accept.

Sacrament’s first album definitely has a Testament vibe.
And Deliverance could be compared to Forbidden because of Jimmy’s vocals on the first two albums.

Sacrament Haunts a bit of Vio-Lence vibe, especially with the stylized vocals.
